Trimac terminal in Tampa is pretty small so I doubt they have much turn over at all. I drive out of the Pensacola terminal and haul to Tampa occasionally, was there last week. Great company as far as trucking companies go if you can get on.

Does superior have a terminal or association with any companies around birmingham? Web site shows terminals in mobile and memphis. Was wondering how close to a terminal you had to live to be considered for employment with superior. Am considering superior or trimac. Trimac has a terminal near birmingham.

There's a Carry (foodgrade) terminal in Decatur. Pay is a bit lower than Superior I think. Closest Superior terminal is Morrow, GA. They may hire you, but honestly I wouldn't want a 160 mile commute. I know a few of their drivers park at tankwashes we use, but I'm not sure if we use one around Birmingham. You could always call and see if that's an option.

Honest opinion though given your distance from any terminals, Trimac would probably be your best option, especially if their terminal is close to you.

Hey ethos, I see Schneider advertising $82,000 a year for bulk drivers. Based on your experience with the company any truth to that at all?

Oh wow! That it was 80 grand starting out was the main thing of interest for me.

    No.

Whenever they say anything at all. One learns to try to figure out what the truth might actually be.

I don't think it's possible, certainly not your first year. The problem isn't really in your CPM it's driver utilization. See Schneider always has struggled with this especially on the weekends. CPM means nothing if you have no miles to run. In your second year, if you became a trainer, ran hard and by some miracle had few layovers then yeah, maybe.

You would be wise not to believe anyone advertising pay like that. The companies who do pay that well don't have to advertise because they have low turnover and don't need to hire hundreds of drivers a month to replace the ones who leave.
