Thanks BallC74. I think I'll be fine, but there's always some unfamiliarity with starting a new job that's starting to make me a little anxious. I'm sure that as soon as I start that will all blow over, I just wish I didn't have to wait the two weeks! Counting down now, until I can dive in and really learn some stuff!

Thanks gaylen. Sorry I haven't updated this much, I've been busy with orientation etc. Made it through, although the class size was whittled down a lot from when we started. Don't bother applying if you do drugs or have an assload of tickets, and disclose injuries etc to your recruiter. Staying in the hotel for two weeks was fine, I got lucky with having an awesome roomie, and made a ton of new friends/coworkers. Got back home this morning, I meet my trainer tomorrow afternoon, he's already got a load ready to be delivered Monday. The next chapter starts tomorrow. I really like the company from what I've seen so far and am super excited about the next 6 months or so!

Keep us posted! I always hear great things about TMC, just the occasional situation someone couldn't continue for personal reasons. Ask your trainer how to get on that John Deere stuff!!! May not have another chance once he sets you loose

Morning Justin, and anyone else reading this. It's about 0500 and I'm just waking up in a truck stop down in Katy TX, so I'm sorry if this is long winded or not formatted well.

The training is going great, I get along with my trainer well and he's teaching me everything I need to know. My buddy got a bad trainer, but TMC was aware of the situation and addressed it within the first week and that trainer is apparently gone now, and my buddy was put with a different guy.

My grandpa passed away last week and I was down in New Orleans, and had to get back to Central TX so I could get up to Nebraska to bury him. TMC didn't have any issue with getting us a load than brought us back past the house, it wasn't" can we get him home", it was "we need to get him home". These couple of things showed me how TMC feels about their drivers, and makes me very happy to work here. I just want my own truck so I can hit the road myself!

As for JD or the boat division, it just takes experience and having an open slot. Apparently there are a bunch of older guys on the specialized divisions so as they retire slots will open up. JD doesn't really sound like my cup of tea solely for the fact that the plants we pull out of are all in the north, and I prefer dry asphalt to snow and ice covered stuff.

It's been weekly so far, except this week, which was by choice due to the weather down there.

Good luck with the rest of your training and hope you get your own truck soon. It is always a relief to get into your own truck. Keep up the good work and hope everything goes well for you at TMC.

It's been getting home Friday evening and leaving mid day sun. The goal is to get your 10hr in being within 30 miles of where you gotta be Monday, that way you start the week with as much time available as possible. So it just depends where you need to be Monday. This weeks been nuts, I've been in 14 different states. Other times we stay primarily in Texas. We did deliver to Katy one day around 1400, and then stayed the night in a pilot/flying j (i forget) off i10. Probably would have worked out well for you bksierra.

Racefan, thanks. I'm looking forward to it! This is my 4th week so I'm expecting it next week sometime.
