I'm a local driver with a 5 min. Drive to and from.
I could get a job paying a couple dollars more an hour but would have a 45 min. Drive to and from.
But that's too much for me and that couple of dollars would just go in the gas tank anyways.
Am I crazy

I worked a local job for a while and went back to OTR. The local job required me to start work exactly 10 hours from the time I got back in. I had a 30 minute drive to and from work. By the time I got home, ####, showered and ate, I would get maybe 7 hours of sleep per night. I went back OTR because it was actually less strain on my body and I got more rest at night.
poppapump1332, Chinatown and mitrucker Thank this. -
Been looking for work in my area. Havent found anything that pays even close to what I make now. Have talked to a few OTR outfits too. No money there or they do sleep apnea testing based on BMI.

Lapeer, huh? I grew up there. What are you driving now, a gravel train? Holland, up in birch run, is looking for road drivers, and you can make a LOT of money there, and not have to commute as much.

No, I pull a reefer delivering to Aldi stores. Work out of the DC in Webberville. Applied to Holland. Waste of time.
Talked to Bynum, no money there. Talked to Trimac, no openings here in MI local or otr.
