Hey guys,
I just started driving for a new company a week ago and while on my way to pick up a load a deer ran out and I hit it. The only damage was a ripped off front bumper, which I still have. My question is who should pay for the damage? Is it on the company since it was a deer and not my fault, or will I be paying for it? Company insurance deductible is $1000. It is a 2014 KW T660. How does your company work?
Thanks

Make the DEER pay

But seriously you say its a 2014 Truck,im pretty sure it isnt PAID OFF fully yet,Thus bringin me to the CONCLUSION,the company may be paying notes,in order to pay notes,ONE MUST AQUIRE FULL COVERAGE,so the comp will probly pay the deductible, and get it FIXED,it shudnt come out your

check as long as you have PROOF that you did in fact hit a DEER!

Non Preventable, Company trk. I hope you got pics and police report.
They will pay,, or they better pay unless you were driving in the field trying to run over the deer.lol -
My company has a road hazard warranty which also covers suicidal deer. Last company I was with, contractors still had to pay the $500 deductible.

The anti-gun lobby should pay.

Well i told the boss i hit a deer, and no, i did not do a police report. And the truck is paid off.

Did you save the back-strap?MJ1657, Lepton1, Arkansas and 1 other person Thank this.

Did you at least take pics after the incident of the deer, I would hope so for record or in case Bambi tries to take you to court for hitting his dad
-
No, no pics of deer. And no hairs or guts either on the bumper.

Aaaaand... what did the boss say?
In any case,, No, you should not be the one to pay. It's a non-preventable accident.
However, to always CYA in any incident you should have taken pics & made a police report, just in case the truck/company insurance requires it.
If damage was minor, it's unlikely insurance would even be involved and owner would pay out of pocket.
