If you receive a call from (866) 609-8026 with an automated voice claiming to have an urgent message for (your name) you can just hang up. If you were to press 1 to confirm your identity, a pre-recorded recruitment message from Gordon Trucking begins to play.

Pretty slimy recruitment tactic if you ask me.

For the record I applied to Gordon 2 years ago, but declined their offer once it was clear they were not able to negotiate pay. They had sent follow-up emails every 6 months or so, but this is the first call...

It is a spam message with the number registered to Kean Advisory, a third party spammer with no real relation to Gordon Trucking. I have a call filter on my phone that identifies these numbers as spam and then I put them on the reject list.

One is better off not to answer unfamiliar numbers. There are people out there that buy and sell email and phone number lists that they guarantee are good and active. Some of the slime tactics today is to have a bot call or text you. As soon as you respond..... on the list you go. Then you can expect future spam.

I'll let them go to voice mail and then google the number.

    TomOfTx Thanks this.

They're at it again. And if you ignore the first call, they call right back a 2nd time. Only this time they say they have an urgent message from "Jessica." Guess they figure a bunch of hard up truckers couldn't say no.

I didn't remember this phone number and happened to have just ordered some parts from a "Jessica" so I pressed 1 only to be greeted by a prerecorded message from Steve Gordon.

Does not seem like a good way to recruit to me -- lets start off the bat by lying to you about who is on the phone...

Everybody thinks robocalls are the way to go. Politics, truck companies, everybody. Nobody like person-to-person communication much.
