I'm currently waiting at the Flying J in Minot. Was supposed to deliver Thursday, but I was going to be a day late after getting hung up in Nashville. Got a message Wednesday that they didn't want it until Monday, and then called the guy on my paperwork yesterday who said now they can't take it until Tuesday at the earliest.

Not a bad run. I turned it down this week though. Glad I did with the weather.

You made the right call, Bugjuice, 'cause we're all having to wait. I think there were four of these loads (I'm third in line) and they might have finally unloaded the first one today. I hear David's supposed to get unloaded tomorrow, and I've been put off until Monday at the earliest. Keep in mind my original delivery was scheduled for last Friday, almost a whole week ago. There's one more truck behind me, but the snag is he needs to be home by next Friday so I suppose there's going to be some trailer shuffling. I've made the best of it and took the slightly longer but more scenic route across South Dakota, and believe it or not two days ago while I was checking out the badlands I ran into someone from the Oak Brook office who was on a ski vacation. He saw the truck and stopped to say hello. Small world.

I haven't had any real trouble with the weather yet, other than icy roads in Nashville and some -15 temperatures. It snowed several inches yesterday in SD, but since I didn't have anywhere to go I just chilled out at the Pilot.

Yea I heard they had a major contamination in their tanks and that's the reason for the long delay. I bet they are gonna be extremely picky on the lab samples from your loads. Your probably in better weather than we are. roads have been an issue all week in in,tn,al,ga. Numerous interstate shutdowns...just hasn't been a good pay week at all

Yup, I'm supposed to be there at 1300 tomorrow, then I'm coming back to swap with coolbreeze so he can make his home date. Hopefully they'll be able to take all of them by Tuesday, but with the way it's been going there's no telling.

If I'd known I eould be waiting this long, I would have turned around and gone back to Fargo last Wednesday.

I think I got caught in that same mess. Called it quits at Manchester. I ended up bringing my load back to Winder that same day.

Well guys I have officially called it quits on the driving gig for now. Started a new job this past Thursday. Monday-Friday 7-3:30. It's nice being home by 4pm. Seems like a pretty decent job so far. Went back to doing electrical maintenance and also learning commercial HVAC as well. Will be taking some classes for that as well at the near by tech school.

I was off five days last week for my sons graduation and then did one last short run for Superior on Tues/Wed. During that five day off period I did not miss being in the truck. Superior was really good to me over the last 3 years and I have no complaints with the company overall. My biggest issue is the tractors. I mostly had just hit a burn out point on driving.

Terminal manager said I was welcome to come back if things did not work out at the new job. I will miss the company but probably won't miss driving too much.

I hear ya on the burnout. I'm working on doing something on the side myself to where I won't have to be totally dependent on driving. It can wear on you, especially when dealing with an unstable schedule.

At least you didn't quit from the usual reasons lol
