Teaming is hard unless you can sleep in a bouncing truck. I teamed for a year even though my company required only 6 months. I had three bad codrivers then one really awesome one who, like me had his haz. We ran hard and made good money. I finally bailed on him just because after a year of running so hard I just needed a break. If I was money hungry I would definitely team again with him.
But the first three were really bad experiences. One would cross the Appalachians and never use the jake or downshift, scary stuff as you can imagine. One was fired after hitting parked cars and a trailer in separate accidents, and he couldn't back.
One thing I miss about teaming is parking is never a problem because, if you have a partner who likes to roll, you don't need parking. As a solo driver I'm rolling at 3:30 or 4:00am so by late afternoon when it's time to park it isn't an issue. Every day I do this without fail.
Your chances of getting in an accident are heightened since the truck is constantly rolling in traffic. My advice would be to always always, when in the bunk, use the safety net.
Team Driving, please advise
