After years of recommending AMMF to other people because they are an agent based system that allows individual O/O's to also secure their own freight (broker & direct); I finally decided to lease to them myself...
I can honestly say that I wish I'd taken my own advice and leased here years ago. After 18 months I couldn't be happier.
If anyone has any questions about Admiral, I'll be happy to answer them.

Whats the load board look like. Plenty to choose from?
-
If they treat their drivers like they treat their customers it's a good place. They only hauled one load for me but they were pleasant deal with.
-
Do they have loads out or to California? I'm sighing contract with them

I'm also leased to Admiral Merchants, truck # 6182.. I absolutely enjoy the freedom that you have here. No forced check calls, everyone in the office is always very pleasant to talk with. You're usually paid within 4 hours after bills are received. You run your business the way you want too..
I have been sitting at home for 3 weeks now. No fault to AMMF. But the freight rates are so cheap that it's not worth firing up the truck. I can't believe that so many people out here are hauling freight for less than a buck fifty a mile all in !!

I USED to call AMMF's brokerage dept years ago for some headhauls.. NO MORE though.(I believe his name was Tom,crabby cat he was))
After I found out what % they keep from their own contract customers freight... I said Forget about it, Its less then what you guys are getting leasing with them (At least if you knew the truth on rates) -
So overall are they good company or are they full of BS like everyone else?
-
I pulled quite a few loads for them and their agents were pretty good. Had correct information, rates were pretty good and money came on time. No magic out there, they haul a lot of the same freight everyone else does. I put a couple of good ltl's together with them

TRUCKDOBE where we're u befoe AMMF.?

I am impressed with the people I have talked to at AMMF about leasing on with them. All my calls have been returned and all of my questions answered. I have been an O/O for over thirty years and I am now leased to a company that has the worst communications I have ever experienced. I got approved to lease on with Admiral today and should have my trailer finance finished up by next week. They are not your typical company in my opinion they are old school and they have your back
