Don't know if you got the answers you needed, but am new to the trucking world and thought I give a quick response. My son has been a trucker for 8 years and was driving for an O/O last year who drove for EM Way. In September 2013 we started our own company and have stayed with EM Way. We like them a lot and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. My son really wants to get into a step-deck and while EM Way mentions step-decks on their website, when my son asked about it he was told it wasn't worth doing. He is looking to talk to others that do step-deck and we may leave EM Way if he finds something he feels would be more beneficial. It's his call since he's the driver . . . I'm just the Office Manager and banker. :)

I have been driving for Em way for about 6 months now. Everything you hear is true and if the owner says it she means it. I have never had a pay issue. Every Friday like clock work. Complete breakdowns via email or us mail showing exactly what was deducted. The company is set up as if you are running under your own authority. You pay all insurances, trailer, etc. You speak directly with brokers so you know you are getting 100%. Well 95%, 2%for billing,3% goes into an escrow account but it's 100%. Home time is up to you again the owner let's you run it like it's your own business. You wanna go home for a month go ahead but you have to remember your fees don't stop. You still pay your administration fee and your trailer and your insurances. It's your business bills don't stop so I guess that's the one and only down side. I know I have made as much as $3/mile. I would say my average is just over $1.90/mile and empty miles are at a minimum. All in all great company I highly recommend.

Supertrucker JK they aren't too good to be true. Everything I've ever been told has been true since the first day I started.

Fca3waters yes Em way is still an option and a great one if you ask me which you did. Emway works differently then most o/o companies. You work directly with brokers and get 98% of the line haul. The 2% pays for the factoring company for bill. They basically just act as your office for a administrative fee. You pay all insurances and for you trailer. You're basically set up like you are all the way on your own. The only fee you incur that you wouldn't if you were under your own authority is the administration fee. Which is well worth the fee for what they do. Coordinate loads and taking care of IFTA and everything else. I highly recommend them to any and all o/o. You have control here that you won't get with other companies. Home time is up to you. I've never asked to go home and been denied. Again it's basically like you're running under your own authority.

lilbull, do you own your own trailer or do you lease one from them? Also, do you run flat, step, or van??

I rent a trailer through them at $120 per week. You can also pull your own which ever you prefer. I pull a van but they also do flat bed and step deck which pay more. I just don't want the hassle. No refers not worth it. I've talked to countless o/o and honestly haven't found one that makes more then I do. Some of them I don't even know why they do it when I hear what they make. I've grossed $5400 in the last 4 days. Not always that good but never bad. Do yourself a favor and call christine.

Yeah no problem I get email notifications whenever anyone replies on here. She's a great woman. Great to work for. Literally will come out of pocket if she can't find you a good rate out of where you are. Will never work anywhere else. Good luck.
