New Driver here, finish school next week.
I have a job opportunity for a job as a linehaul driver. .41 CPM home every night. Carrier has no sleepers. Good? Sounds good to me, considering megas start you out less then that and have you out everyday for 3 weeks straight. How many miles can you expect on average? 400-600 a day? Of course more money the better, But as an Army retiree I have other sources of income.
thanks
MP

Miles would depend on the route. Is it a relay? or hub to hub?
Do you have to work the trailers when you get there (destination)? How about at your home terminal? -
hmmm. MY Mega starts new drivers out at .41 cpm. With it being a local job I have a feeling your no going to be making as much as you think. most of the time you will only get 300-400 miles
-
I would guess 300-500 a day, unless it is a situation where you are relaying trailers for an LTL company or something. Or going terminal to terminal, in which case many will not put them less than 200 miles apart. 41 cpm for a new driver is very good. If they can give you a really good number for average miles to expect I would jump on it.
Just remember, that will not count as OTR experience. So it will not count as anything if you ever decide to go OTR. But if your end goal is a more than less local job, go for it. -
I was told it was terminal to terminal. Average 450-600 (600 sounds like a lot) a night. All line hauls run nights. All drop an hook freight.
