I never said I had trouble sleeping, I don't know where you got that notion.

What would I have the industry do? Gee, well, I don't know, how about give drivers a reasonable amount of time off. But I'm sure you think the industry is suffering, so why wouldn't the drivers? While they're making millions you're working 12 hour days and making just enough to get by. Oh, won't anybody think about the ###### industry!???

Funny, I remember when we went from 8 hrs off to 10 hrs off and my first reaction was, what am I going to do with those two extra hours. I still think 10 hrs is too long to be mandatory.

I understand that some people don't really need the 10 hour break. Some of you are fine with 8 hours or freaking 4 hours I don't know, but holy hell can you blame the rest of us for needing a little extra time? I'm not asking for a day off or anything I just need some time for myself.

Um, okay then. I don't know how my personal hygiene is important here but if it makes you feel better good. Also, I hardly am just "getting by". Where did I get the notion you had trouble sleeping? Dude are you kidding me, read this thread again.

So your answer because you can't sleep is to make our mandatory breaks longer there by punishing us for having the audacity to be able to sleep enough in 10 hours? I'm starting to think I get what's going on here. Bad attitude and a poor me problem. Oh well, they come around daily on here.

Who is blaming you? It's your truck, your career and your paycheck. I don't think anyone cares what you do with all three. Want to sleep more? Awesome, won't affect my paycheck one bit.

If you want to take 10+ hrs off, do it. How much time you need is between you and your carrier. DOT don't care how long you take so long as it is a minimum of 10 hrs (or 8 and 2 sleeper berth rule).

I just sometimes feel like I'm pressured to get the load there on time. Like I said, I'm new at this and it takes me a little longer than more experienced truckers. Sometimes I just want to flip them the bird and go to sleep, but I need at least 1 year's experience before I can find a better job.

If I can't get into the bed and go to sleep pretty quickly, I haven't worked hard enough....

I greatly respect your work ethic, but it's a kind of puritan work ethic I do not subscribe to. I'm also willing to bet you make much more than me.
