Hey all,
Thanks for the help. Let me see if I can answer these questions.
Right now, getting it on the trailer is no problem. We have the loan of a forklift that can handle the weight and get the car bodies up on the trailer, getting them off at the location they are going is still under discussion at this point.
No reason why we can't go over height, it's just that we don't really want to mess with it. But I guess we will if we have to. The integrity of the cars is not really in question. They have a steel frame, but a large part of the cars on either end is wood. I'm not sure how the cars would handle an overhang of that length. But they might take it. I'll have to look into that a little more. And I'm not sure what you mean by cars. Do you mean the wheel sets under neath the railcar, because if so, these are missing their wheel sets.
The weight is roughly around 16,000 pounds per car body.
Thanks for the info. Can you PM me with some contact info? I'd like to talk to you.
Thanks,
MS
