The biggest plus for me, and I'm sure I've said this before, is that they trust me to do my job. The Qualcomm isn't constantly squawking asking for eta's. Very stress free environment, provided you do your job I'm assuming.

.34 .35 cpm how can you drive for that?
-
It's not quite accurate. That's starting base pay. Bonuses are attainable. I make 41-42 cpm after bonuses.
-
Easy. At 35 cpm and 2,500 miles per week, thats $875. For me, not too shabby. Then there are the bonuses, the icing on the cake.
-
Can you expand on the bonus program? What are the qualifications? What amount does each one pay (in cpm)? Thanks.
-
1cpm for 32k miles for the quarter. 1cpm for 36k.
1cpm for 6.5mpg, 1 for 7, 1 for 7.5, 1 for 8. I always get 6.5, 7 most of the time.
1cpm for safety.

I'm driving one of the automatic's and do like it. I hadn't driven one since they first started coming out around the year 2000 and I drove one at USX then. I hated it and said I would never drive one again. But 15 years is a long time and I heard a lot of good things about these newest generation ones. So I decided to give it a try.
Right now I find myself using the manual shift on the highway, whenever I need to shift, and the automatic on city streets as well as starting and stopping getting on and off the highway. It is pretty smooth as long as you don't floor it, and even then it handles it pretty well, even heavy. It doesn't lurch and jerk around like the old ones. Then there's the extra space on the floor. Kind of nice for moving back and forth from the sleeper or also if you have a laptop mount. -
The Mack mDrive is darn handy when you've a sandwich in your right hand and your left on the steering wheel--or anything else that would have to stop to shift a manual stick.
Nosirreee, I like the mDrive just fine, thank you! -
I completely agree. Didnt like it at first, but man, when stuck in Detroit rush hour traffic its great.
My only concern having one for OTR would be going downhill in iffy conditions and not being able to drop into a lower gear myself. Up here in MI its pretty flat so no big deal.
