Well sounds like your no help on this PNDB (as your just guessing & have not used either one of the products), I'm not on here to say what's right or wrong with why you dislike these headlights, Some just need to adjust them as what I have read is the problem your upset about. These are not blue lights, more of a natural white light of what I have read bout them, as far as what you call the Asian Brand (unsure where there made) is I really wouldn't think Iowa 80 would be selling them if they were not DOT approved. BTW I did call United Pacific and they informed me they were DOT approved BTW. I am simply trying to see much better in the dark after getting my truck rammed the second time by a deer & want to hear from drivers that have used these headlights, as they are much more expensive than the OEM headlights and I value there input before I purchase a set.

The dot doesn't approve lighting, it is a self-aproval system. Anyone can create a light, test it and say it fits the dot standards if it does to sell it.

there isn't really a set lumen regulation, there is more to it then the light level.
By the way the average HID light is around 3000 lumen.

If you want a excellent headlamp buy the jw speaker 8800. You won't be disappointed. As far as the other brands I couldn't tell you. But I do know , you ussally get what you pay for.
The jw speaker is just a fantastic headlight thou.

Wonder why they put on the products DOT approved, sounds like false information then ?? JW Speakers are the best I hear, they are the company that make headlights for new HD Motorcycles, but the cost are 2 times of what you can buy these for & my luck I would be getting a shower at a truck stop & coming back out with both headlights gone.

I am ordering a set of JW Speakers, be there when I get home. I have never heard of anyone who was unhappy with them. They have dropped the price of the 8800. They call them the 8800 evolution now. Still very expensive at $270 they were about $325. You can buy a $30 LED flashlight or you can buy a $100 streamlight or fenix. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Honestly. Yes it sounds like a lot of money for head lights, and it is.
But once you try a set , you will never go back. Worth every penny. !
Jw speaker is the cats ###. They have a limited lifetime warrenty also.

Yes the 8800 or less money, but the 8900 or much higher as they are the 5x7 what I am needing for a 2 headlight system, the 8800 are for a four headlight system. But once again I wasn't asking about JW Speakers BTW.

Yeh you're right Ridgeline, you jogged my memory. It has to do with optics, the beam pattern.

ELectric cowboy I would buy LED if I didn't already have HIDs. I just hate when people use higher watt bulbs and don't properly aim the lights. And bumper lights suck too unless you are off road or in the fog.

Just remember deers freeze in bright headlights or moose lights and dart at the last second.. When I ran moose lights I had more close calls with deer then without them .. Btw deer eyes shine at night which make them easy to see .. Moose eyes have no shine to them hence the need for brighter lights

Well again I'm not looking for any other information other than the products I ask about, but it seems it's now changed to being upset about bright lights or deer (That wasn't what I was asking about, just used it as a explanation) that wasn't in my original post. If you want to talk about something that even worse come up on a construction zone at night or a police car much worse than any LED or HID headlight that I have ever seen for sure. But still waiting to hear from someone that has United Pacific headlights in a two headlight system installed in there truck, as I herd about the others I asked about, but no information about the UP's ??
