Wow...that sounds like a nightmare! I see you live there. Has it been like that over there all winter?

How wonderful it is to arrive at my final only to be told that they stop doing live unloads at 12:30 and I'll have to come back Monday. I had sent in mac22 and repeatedly told my DM that I couldn't make the 0700 appointment time and got told that I had until 22:00 to deliver despite my concerns that a live unload normally doesn't have a window like that. Got a message back from the CSR that they don't have a good contact number for the receiver and they want the name and contact number for the security guard that turned me away. Welp, I'm boned. Sitting at the Petro down the street from the Dollar General in Lebec, Cali now.

Rest area a few west of Memphis. Last night was a trip. T-called one at Memphis terminal yesterday and got a shortie so I didn't have to be stuck for the night. Two miles from the drop I exit I-30 to backed up trucks. Get on the cb and find out they've been sitting for an hour due to a truck stuck on overpass. I sat for just more than two. We finally moved and I got to Dillards DC. Dropped loaded and headed for mt's. Driver taking mt next to mine got "stuck" pulling his out. Helped him, with shovel and hammer to break up the ice. Hadn't replaced my kitty litter so ended up using my carpet pieces from the truck. Hour and twenty later we both rolled out. They gave me a 119 mt 975 loaded next. The fuel stop was a mile away so headed there. Needed DEF and when time to pump it their pump malfinctioned. Had to call Greer to reauthorize. All that to say a 140 mile d n h ended up taking over six hours. Ah well the blessing was after the "pump" fiasco in a sardine jammed Loves, as I pondered where I'd find parking at 2 am a truck pulled out right in front of me. Ten minutes later I was parked not sleeping.

This one was live load appt. 4pm I got there a bit after noon. Was a crowd so but still ended up getting out by 4:30. I'll stage tomorrow close to drop, then I get my first big paper roll load headed back to AL from VA.

Still at SLC terminal waiting for my repairs.
Yesterday I was told it would be today before I got in, but they are near closing time now.
My PTA was set for 03/09 2357, so maybe they don't expect to be done with me until Monday.
There are several sensors that need to be replaced as well as the coolant tank, not to mention the problems with the air compressor and the needed b-service.
Perhaps some parts needed to be ordered.

Still, this has been a very good truck for me. I'd rather wait it out than transfer to a different truck, with unknown problems.

Yes, it is important to get a name and phone number of anyone that gives you information that is contrary to dispatch information. I've been "boned" on this a few times, but my DM has always backed me up. At times CSR's might not have up to date information about a customer, or be overly busy and not get to a answer specifics on a particular load. I've even been pushed to make an appointment with a customer, only to have the secretary of this small receiver walk to the boss's door and say loud enough for the entire office to hear, "Swift is here without an appointment, AGAIN!!!" I let the CSR know about that one... ;) :D

It's nice to get back into shorts and a polo shirt after showering at JV last night. Had a great night's sleep (two sleeps interspersed with a shower and laundry) on a 16 hour break, waiting for my appointment for a live unload.

Used Mac-30 to snag a quick drop and hook to drop and hook in North Las Vegas to give me more miles and finished with a tad under 300 for the day. TJ Maxx didn't have any empties, so I bobtailed to the Flying J and snagged a great parking spot in the corner, that would have been impossible with a trailer.

Got a preplan to pick up a t-call at the drop yard for a live unload delivery in Denver early Monday morning. I'm going to love this run, I always enjoy running I-70 through Utah and over the Rockies. I think I'll keep the shorts on until well into or even through Utah tomorrow. I should be set up Sunday night at the customer, then be able to log Pretrip and Delivery and have all my 11 available to run Monday...

... weather willing, and right now it looks like a huge high pressure system is building in the West.

    Hi Bab1369,
Was wondering what life is like in SC? Considering moving close to Myrtle Beach due to the climate and wondering what its really like, especially during the busy summer/tourist season. Any insights or comments are appreciated in advance. Thanks ;)

Husband spent the night in Ohio. Was asked to take a load the planners missed from Sears dc in Illinois. Was told to expect a 48' trailer. Got there and found a 53' trailer. 53' won't fit at the receiver. Waited 4 hrs for load to be reworked. Realized that trip is written with 3 drops, 2 in ohio and final back at original shipper in illinois. Literally half his load is hauling an empty trailer.

I really live in the truck, so I really can't say. But it's usually clear when I amble through.
