Here at the 66 Casino On I-40 at the 140mm. Will be in Lathrop on Monday. Tried to get my 90 day and failed due to crack in windshield. Tried to get it fixed in Amarillo today and nope. Not until Tuesday. Was not losing this load. The whole trip they say that I am tracking late. Darn system. But I asked if they are going to have me t-call in SLC, nope. Then ask if ALBQ. Nope. My DM will not let me into ALBQ since she has such a hard time getting her drivers out of there. She looked at my hours and said, heck, I can make my 0900 on Monday about 1000 miles away. Have this feeling that this is one of these computer generated appointment times where there is no actual person involved. After I sent in ldd call was sent a appt. Right with the time that it would take. I know the shipper and I am going to one of there stores in Santa Clara and pretty sure that it is FCFS. This is why CSR is not worried about me tracking about 1 hour late. This why then Lathrop after mt. They can fix the windshield on Tuesday morning and get my DOT done and hope that out of there. Well, only 21 days left on this truck until get my new one.
Thinking that when I get the new truck might start a new thread. Something about completed 1st lease and starting 2nd one. Hey, the trolls have not been fed in awhile.

At the TA in MacClenny, FL. It's nice to be freshly showered and kickin back with the windows open. Was told that freight is light here so we're sitting MT waiting for anything. Unfortunately I don't have access to Mac 30, but I'm hopeful. I still have to find a way to get friendly with the planners. I guess the best way is to try and always be on time. So far so good. Though I did get a BS service fail on a pick up at Coke in Hartford, CT. I was in constant contact, and was late due to Boston morning traffic. I was only thirty minutes late and was on time for delivery. These sort of issues will just cause me to heavily over estimate the time needed on Mac 9's. Oh, well. But, at least I'm in Florida tonight.

On a weekend night they spread a GOOD poker game in the casino. Might be worth tracking a few more hours late...

I'm at the absolutely superb rest area at exit 19 in Fruita, CO. This was on my bucket list of places to take a 10, and now this will be more like a 14, since I'm ahead of schedule headed to a 9:00 am Monday live unload in Denver. This rest area has parking for about 10 trucks and right now as the sun is setting I'm the ONLY truck here. Across the street there's a truck stop and it looks like it is filling up. There's amenities all around this rest area: restaurants, museum, drug store, truck stop, etc. Short walk to the rest room and nobody idling beside me. Should be a great night. Truck smells like coffee after I've made my brew for tomorrow and I'm about to pop a movie into the laptop and enjoy.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
TA in Baileyton TN. 514 miles today. Easy day rolling east I 40. Got about 4 hours in am to drop this at Wally World DC then go get under 9 paper rolls and head back to Alabama. Was good to get in an entire day seeing dry pavement. Wasn't smooth as Arkansas and western TN really need pothole repair. Couple of places qualified as serious road hazards. Gonna get a good night's sleep then grab an early shower and get thru this weekend. Greer sent an am message saying freight was light this wknd so I feel blessed they had me lined up for loads.
Still wondering if anyone has a solution to the rattling shift knob in a cascadia. -
After being in the shop all day today in SLC (0700-1800) my air compressor is still not working correctly, and the batteries are still not holding a charge..
He changed the governor, then cleaned the battery terminals and threw it on a charger.
After that he replaced the radiator and other things.
When he started the truck this evening it took a LONG time to build up air, even at 1400 RPM.
He must have noticed but released it anyway.
It was a long day for him with my truck. If he even took a lunch break I didn't notice. Every time I checked, he was right there working on it.
I took it to bobtail parking, but it still wasn't building air pressure correctly so I brought it back to him.
Now I'm back in shop parking to have the compressor worked on - hopefully tomorrow.
As soon as I started turning things on (computer, lunchbox oven...) the red warning light in the cab came on indicating that I would soon lose battery power.
I don't think he actually tested the batteries at all. -
Pop the center cap that says Eaton Fuller off and tighten the nut underneath . Or crank the stereo up until the windshield vibrates and shimmers .

jv terminal. spent a couple hours today at the fred hall fishing show in long beach convention center. bought some hooks and jigs for my 7 day fishing trip on the excel in june. then drove to chatsworth to p/u fishing reels that i had serviced and cleaned. then just made it to my freinds son first baseball game. nice to have a full day away from this terminal and truck.
OceanDan Thanks this. -
btw... the new truck entrance into jv terminal is under construction. they are taking about 50-70 feet of the center divider out. guess they got tired of drivers hitting that fence corner. was a tight turn into driveway. always got into other lane to make the turn. think it be done tomorrow

I guess redesigning is best, for all concerned.
Maybe they only used toy trucks and models the first time? -
I really like the way CO set up their rest areas along that stretch of 70. Instead of out in the middle of nowhere, they stick them in towns, where they can double as a park for the locals.OceanDan Thanks this.
