Risinger rented me a new Camaro to get me and the Hot Chick back to Morton. Spending the weekend in a hotel and getting a new truck Monday. (I have the Camaro til Monday. It is such an excellent Gran Turismo. If you have the inclination and the means, I highly recommend picking one up.)

Risinger's legal eagle called to inform me she has secured the cost of the car and hotel from the other driver's company. Also she will be fighting for some compensation for my down time. I am also getting back the money for the 187 gallons of fuel I put into Elsa the day before the incident.

In nine years of driving I have never worked at a company that cared this much about their drivers' welfare. They work the bleep out of you but they work just as hard FOR you. I'm grateful we found each other. All this has taken a toll on the Hot Chick's nerves but the recovery assistance has really helped both of us deal with the stress.

Before you ask, the Camaro has the 305hp V6 and 7-speed automatic; it is not an SS. It ain't THAT good here.

Elsa has retired. The new truck will be either Olaf (snowman) or Sven (moose). Or maybe a Muppet. Or some other reference. I won't know til I meet the truck.

Physics tells us that two matters can not occupy the same space at the same time, ---
your recent parking lot experience is a fine example.
Physics also tells us that for every action there is an opposite, and equal, reaction, ---
and again what you've been experiencing with Risinger illustrates that occurrence.
Not only is what Rieinger has been doing for you good for your business venture, it
also makes for some excellent dramatic readin'. Ain't it nice to run for a company
when said company has your back for a change?

Is Riesinger aware that you're penning your adventure as it unfolds here at TTR?
I'm confident you'll find success before you end your narrative, ,but knowing how
    it'll end doesn't spoil the enjoyment of how you go about accomplishin' that goal;
not to mention the numerous lessons and fine points on how to git-er-dun, often
by example and/or through personal experience(s), pretty much in real time for
the readers, is something that wannaBees and experienced Big truck truck
    drivers alike can appreciate.
ThanX for taking the time and making the efforts

I continue to wish y'all the best of success.

It's morning, time to go drive around in the Camaro!

--If, and only if, The Hot Chick doesn't mind me leaving her here for a while since she ain't gettin outta that skooshy, warm, pillow-top mattress bed til her majesty is darn good and ready.

Guess I'll have to settle for some Cracker Barrel for now.

Thanks for joining us on this twisted little journey, Aftershock.

To answer your question, yes they are aware. I don't know if they are reading this or not, so I'm going to try something.

TOM DALTON IS A NEENER HEAD. HE'S SO OLD HE WAS THE BUS BOY AT THE LAST SUPPER. HIS SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS "42." HE'S SO UGLY HE HAS TO SNEAK UP ON A GLASS OF WATER. HE'S SO SKINNY HE COULD HULA HOOP WITH A CHEERIO. HE'S SO SKINNY HE HAS TO JUMP AROUND IN THE SHOWER TO GET WET. HE'S SO SKINNY HE COULD HANG GLIDE WITH A DORITO.

Okayyy...if my first post next week is asking around about another job, then you all know that the (IMPECCABLY DRESSED, WELL COIFFED, ALWAYS FIT, EVER SO FORGIVING, RUGGEDLY HANDSOME, FORGIVING, PATIENT, UNDERSTANDING, QUICK TO FORGIVE, GENEROUS, GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR HAVING, AND DID I MENTION FORGIVING?) head of safety, Mr. Tom Dalton, is not, in fact, trolling around on TTR looking for references to Risinger Brothers Transfer.

Wonder if maybe I should have mentioned any of the other members of the (wonderful, understanding, and most of all quick to forgive an ersatz comedic writer) office staff?

Naaah. They're all way too cool to be reading this stuff.

(All kidding and butt kissing aside, that very small staff has almost 200 other drivers to look after, and they seriously are too busy treating them as well as they treat me to spend much time scanning the blogosphere for references to themselves. I hope.)

Here's hoping that as the snow melts away so does my lucky streak. I'm beyond ready to quit bouncing around like God's own Hacky Sack and get to work.

    Stay tuned....

The Camaro goes back tomorrow. I don't want to give it back. That V6 performs like a Corvette from the early '90s. Makes all the right sounds, and handles beautifully. I don't even think I would want an SS, just because I would need a track to even begin to explore that car's capabilities. This thing is so much fun at sane speeds, and I still haven't pushed it near it's limits. I've tried a few times to break the back end loose around a corner, but the chassis takes a set so quickly, and it just hooks up and goes. Turn in is crisp, and at the speeds I was doing the car is pretty darn neutral. : A little wiggle on the softish springs in transitions, but pretty flat...kind of a European suspension tune (softer springs with aggressive roll and damping rates). Those soft springs and longish suspension travel let it soak up the bumps and potholes without upsetting the chassis...probably safer for 99% of drivers.

But, alas, it must go back tomorrow. And I'll keep you posted on the new truck. For now I must sleep. And dream of the new breed of muscle car that have become as capable on the twisties as they have always been in the stoplight Grand Prix.

I've got a '99 Firebird with the V-6 and a Grand Prix GTP with the supercharged V-6. Yes, these new cars are every bit as much fun as the old muscle cars at sane (yeah, right) speeds.
