Captain, how did you like the electric power steering (I think the Camaro has it) ? I drove a Camaro around a dealers lot once. I just wanted to see how I fit. I'm 6'2". The roof is low. The steering felt a little strange in my very short test drive. Maybe it is ok driving around. What did you think?
I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

I hauled a couple new camaros this weekend. If you want to spin the tires, turn off the stability control. Button is in the center by the shifter. BTW, that's about the only new american sport car actually like.

It seems a bit overboosted at low speeds but as your velocity increases the power assist decreases. During spirited driving as side loads begin to mount it feels very natural, and the steering is actually quite communicative when you need it to be.
I'm 6'3" and I feel like I fit fine (after folding myself into the ####pit). Then again, I'm accustomed to close-cropped machinery. If you're rather broad at the beam this isn't for you as the sport buckets have good side bostering which would dig into a wider back and/or tuckus.Lone Ranger 13 Thanks this. -
Nice, but pro touring machinery ranks right up there with the Pagani Huyara--fun to look at but made of pure unobtanuim.
About the best looking one I've seen in recent memory though. Except maybe this '72 Corvette I saw that was restomodded with a modern Z06 powerplant and 6-speed manual and all the requisite chassis and drivetrain upgrades. Looked bone stock except for the wider wheels. And those wheels, while made from billet aluminum, were styled and painted to look just like the factory rallye wheels, right down to the beauty rings and center caps.
The guy said he had an ignition cutout at 120mph due to the aerodynamics of the stock shape (made it dangerous to.go any faster). He had over $240,000 and four years invested in it. It was not for sale.
Wish I had that kind of time and money. And skill. -
I didn't dare cut off the traction control due to my heavy right foot and the iffy pavement. Would be fun though. If a little expensive...tires don't come cheap any more.

It is with a heavy heart I go now to return El Diablo Rojo (The Red Devil) to the rental car company.
New truck is a '15 Volvo with 88K miles, an automatic, and (gasp!) an inverter. It will be ready in time for me to hit the road Wednesday. We hope. It's getting a PM done and they're going to detail it and put in a new mattress for me. -
CPT. Zoom;
Have you checked out the new ford mustang with I.R.S. two v-6's over 300hp, and a new 5.0 v-8? car and driver was saying the new suspension and power was putting it in corvette's handling class as opposed to camaros and challengers.
I have enjoyed reading your threads here, and your driving experiences. I would like to hear your thoughts on this new Mustang. -
As I haven't driven one and will not be able to buy one unless I win the lottery, I have no thoughts on the new Mustang aside from the following: It looks great, the V6 with the Track Pack is one of the best handling domestic cars ever, the turbo 4 will become a tuner's and club racer's special, the return of the 5.0 is long overdue, and re the new irs--about #@&$!! time.
I'll have a lot more to say about it when/if I ever get to drive one, especially if I get to live with it like I did the Camaro.
The Hot Chick says I should review cars professionally. The tease. -
You'd a been alright. From a dead stop they don't spin that much, even with the traction control off. Could barely pull a 180 on wet pavement.
