The cook out is for the quarterly bonus. Each DC has their own cook outs for mile stones such as 5 million safe miles. We are over due for one.

It'll be like that for a little while. But soon enough he will get into his own routine and it'll be smooth sailing!! I'm glad all is well and remind him that he still has us here on the board for any questions. Congratulations to both of you!!!Buzzard2157 and drozzer69 Thank this.

It only gets better from here!! You think to yourself, man, they're just being nice to me because I'm the new guy!!! But it never goes away!! The Walmart family is truly some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with!! It really is a culture that can spoil you!!! Good luck with the rest of your time with your mentor.Buzzard2157 Thanks this.

Thanks, noninetofive!!! Yes, I'm sure he has been thinking that the "nice" will wear off, but the more of what I've shared with him from you guys here on this thread, well, let's just that the he is becoming a believer
I can't tell you how excited I am that he will finally be treated the way he deserves to be treated. This man NEVER complains about ANYTHING -- he just keeps his mouth shut and does as he is told and gets it done quickly, efficiently and safely.
He deserves this -- he has worked his entire life for this and now it's his turn. That's how I feel about every guy who manages to get on here -- you've all earned it. -
No Andrew, that is not my Rick. Rick Luga started in the batch of 5 right before my Rick started (they wanted to hire 10, and did it in 2 batches). They started in September, and my Rick started in December.
Have fun out there, and don't stress too much. Your rhythm will come with time. Never forget from where you came. That way, how great you are treated there will never get old. Rick still pinches himself. He worked for many years knowing he wanted to get on with WM. You will meet some who have forgotten from where they came, but don't let them dampen your enthusiasm.
Buzzard, yes, they all deserve this. So many times the great drivers / employees are taken for granted because they do not whine and complain constantly. Rick is the same way, and he was invisible. He is not invisible any longer. He is a valued employee, and part of the team. Enjoy the ride.
