Hey Chris I sent you a long reply but it's being moderated before they post it? Dear Lord what's the world coming to. Let's see if it shows up before I write it all again.

Hope you've been well buddy. :)

    EDIT: Sent you a PM

Maybe it was a link I added Chris? Let's try the reply this way. Sent you a PM as well.

Hey Chris, well not exactly. Been a very long ordeal with my mom and all. Ended up having to sell my folks house where I've been to cover back bills and ongoing costs for the nursing home she's been in since February 2013. Terminal Cancer. :(

The closing will be the 27th of this month at which point I'll be, broke, semi crippled and on the street. Well, in a car at least. Her Durango I plan on keeping as I sold my truck, Harley and just about everything else to help fund things here. So for the first time since May of 2012 I can once again start to plan for me. Might get back into a truck but there are things I need to do before that. Basically just get my medical card again and submit to DMV. Just spoke with an OO who's sending me an app to fill out so he has everything once I tell him the ole CDL is good.

A friend of mine started a campaign to help me out. Of course the little stinker (God love him) didn't tell me about it until it was all setup. As he's in Upton England, he's passed it on to me to manage ... LOL I've done a lifetime of charity work but never been on this side before. Never heard of this GoFundMe thing but sure would have been nice to have of all those years. If it had been around it could have allowed helping far many more, even better. :)

I've never been much on the social media stuff like Facebook and such but I guess I will be now?

Wow, seems nobody posts about WS much anymore? Hopefully it's cause they're all too busy? ;)

Well my friend Chris......I haven't been on here in a year-stopped to post a hello in another thread and saw you have a recent post in this thread! I hope things work out for you and you are able to drive again. I'm so sorry for everything you have had going on with your Mom....I will keep her and you in my prayers.\
Stay well Chris, stay well :)

Hey sweetie. Thank you. Yeah, what started out to be maybe 3 to 6 months out to help her while her spinal compression fracture healed, turned into a 4 year nightmare as she was overcome by cancer we didn't even know about until too late. She passed May 2nd. :(

So once again, I start from scratch (a little worse than before WS) Hoping to rebuild.

Hope all is well at your end. :)

Odd new format for the forum. No PM's anymore?

    sammycat Thanks this.

I never used the PM feature but I think it is now the “Start a Conversation” item that you see when clicking directly on a users aviator or user name.

Hey Chris- I am so sorry to hear about your Mom....keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. That must have been so tough on you and your Mom the last 4 years. I guess the only''good'' thing is you did get to spend time with her ....
As for the rebuilding - at least you can start to move on soon.with your life and hopefully good things start to happen.....maybe get back driving again? You should explore thought what has changed in the last few years in the wonderful world of commercial truck driving..... which of course this forum is good for! Yeah the new forum format is a bit odd -still haven't gotten used to it and no idea on the PM (saw the post above me) to me it seems like the forum is dull now.
Things are going well for Dave and I -together 6 years next month (well we met!) Hard to believe he has lived in NY for 5 1/2 yrs now too! I am at the same job but on management side (again) Dave ended up hanging up his keys permanently last year ( gave us his CDL) He went to college and got an associated degrees in polysomnography (sleep tech) passed his NYS boards and is now licensed and certified working in a sleep lab and loving it! Funny both of us in the medical field now....
I am SO GLAD you ended up posting again and again, please accepted my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom.........:( ****HUGS*****

Lord knows I've been thru a lot but yeah, that was the toughest years of my life for sure. #### helpless feeling but yes, I am grateful I had that time with her. Was better than loosing my dad when out on the road. Was hoping to get back out there but it would seem the gap in my driving makes that impossible. WS won't hire me back due to my back (which is what led me to driving in the first place) as I can't be unloading trailers full of furniture. I'm not the welfare type sooooooo .... oh well.

I am SO glad to hear about Dave's new direction! That's just great for you guys! :) Thanks for the prayers and God bless you and yours.

Oh that suxs....about WS......not taking you back. Would you consider another company that might retrain you? I know Dave told me that is common -like once you stop driving for 5 minutes you can't drive anymore. Doesn't seem right as there are many things in life we don't do and then can do. (like riding a bike!)
Thanks about Dave- he really (finally) found something he likes and luckily he had the chance to go back to college and get that degree. I can tell he likes the job as he doesn't complain LOL!
I am glad, despite how tough it was with your Mom, that you got that time to spend with her. I remember your Dad passing away while you were OTR. My Dad just got out of the hospital a few days ago and it makes me be glad he called me to ask for help (new congestive heart failure but luckily he feels much better than the last 6 months d/t all the fluid.) Makes me appreciate the time I have now.
Keep the faith-something will come along- it did last time when you first started driving..... :)
