OK, Semi, Chinatown, Forgive me for high-jacking the thread but I have a situation and would like your inputs. I am 45 years old, been working in the oilfield for 15+ years. It is going downhill very fast as we all know. I have a wife that is used to me being gone for long stretches of time. I have 2 kids. 1 grown and married. I graduates high-school in a couple months.
I have scheduled a Prime PSD beginning April 13th. Now, I can pay off ALL my possessions and have just household expenses, insurances, etc. with closing my 401k instead of rolling over to another employer. I can take most of the money from here on and rat-hole it and have a decent nest egg in 15-20 years of driving.
My question to you two is - What is your point of view on this? Am I making the right decision??? And if you disagree, why?
I would certainly value your opinions as I have seen a LOT of posts directed to you two in particular...
Thanks for any advise!!
