Now it starts. How long till we hear 55?
-
another offshoot of the ANTI TRUCKING ASSOCIATION strikes again
-
They just have to be shills for the ATA.
Does it strike anyone else that way?
Why does or would the great state of Minn. even care what trucking co's do outside their state?
Trucking co's can reprog their ecm's any way they choose already.
If they believed in the 65 limit to this degree, they'd already be reprog'd.
I get a "tick" everytime someone pulls a "recent study or ins. co report" out of their behinds. Never a name or qualifying methodology. -
Oh please God, not again.
Nixon pulled this same crap in the 70's, for the same reasons. Who else remembers the double-nickel? -
Oh, I remember the double nickel! Nothing short of a revenue source for states. If 65 mph saves fuel, drop it to 55 and then why stop at 55, drop it to 45, we are talking about saving fuel, ain't we? Better than this, start issuing tickets to anyone who is driving just for pleasure. Make it a law, you get on the highway, you better have business and I don't mean just going to get ice cream or a beer.
Stupid ain't it. But it makes about much sense as what the MN. Trucking ###. has proposed. -
All this is, is an attempt to run the O/O out of business, safety has nothing to do with it. If they wanted safety they would use Black Boxes and pay by the hour, period, end of story.

I'm not sure I agree with what you think the motive is, however this will be the end result. Being able to move freight fast is one of the major advantages an independant has.
