I am driving a Car hauler and the cars on the trailer are customer property, but I have all the car keys. I always have beers in some of the cars trunk.

You must not look to closely at some of the drivers out there.

Well, maybe that's what the DOT officer did but Einstein had the beer laying on the bed........
-
Or the officer smelled the empties in the trash can.

It carries a $1000 fine with no points. Not sure if they toss in a suspension.

So you were convicted of a DUI five years ago and now you're whining about getting caught with beer in the sleeper?
Do us all a favour... find another occupation.
"Learned your lesson?" Apparently not.SHO-TYME, ShortBusKid, joseph1135 and 1 other person Thank this. -
<<shudders at memory>>, years ago, my truck was in the shop for a couple of days, boss had me drive the spare sleeper for a couple days. Ran up to Wally world, kept hearing a metallic rattle. While waiting, I start searching for the sound. Open the side compartment on the passengers side, find a 24 pk of bud light, with 15 crushed empty beer cans and a couple of full ones inside it.
WTF
. Called the boss on the radio, he said lock the door so no one can open it, if you get stopped tell the cops you don't have the key for it, in fact remove the key for the side compartment doors from the key ring and hide it, we'll deal with it later. Get back to the yard, he opens it up, find the evidence, takes digital pics of it. We'd had a temporary, Pro Drivers, driver in the truck for the prior two weeks, doing Walmart only loads. The truck had been thoroughly cleaned out before he got in it, so we knew where it came from.
Boss emailed everything to Pro Drivers that evening, they were appalled, guess they called and fired the guy over the phone.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Cops are about the only people I'll lie to, mostly because they have no problem lying to me in order to get the answer they want...so I figure 2 can play that game. What color is the sky? Looks pink to me. If you wanted a serious answer, you wouldn't ask a stupid question. If you're holding my BOL in your hand, "where ya coming from" and "where ya going" are just as stupid as "what color is the sky". You already know the answer, so there is no reason to ask. If the question has been asked & answered already, don't ask it again...says to me you don't care about my response enough to pay attention the first time I answered, so it now qualifies as a stupid question worthy of a random response.SheepDog, misterG and NavigatorWife Thank this.

Cant find anything on line that says about a suspension or not. I dont think its an easy answer to find.
