I was able to cook the family a nice roast beef dinner today on my last day of home time.
It was nice to have a full kitchen again.
My last home time here my oldest young one, 18 year old Luana, wasn't able to get together with us. It was especially nice to see her after all this time.
My ex even gave me a long overdue haircut. (Now a nurse, she is also an experienced Cosmologist - her first profession.)
All in all, a very satisfying home time.
I pick up a load from Miller/Coors in the morning headed to MT.
I turned down the first pplan that was sent to me, via updated times with Mac 9.
A bit later I sent a Mac 30 and had 2 loads offered. One going to Sheridan, WY and the other to MT - both delivering on Monday.
I took the longest one.
It looks like I won't be able to help my ex as much in the future when she might need it.
CO state just increased my child support obligation by about 80%, nearly doubling what I pay each week.
This is one good reason to get per diem pay, as it is hidden from the vultures. It could have been worse.
We were both fine with the current arrangement, by the way. She didn't ask CO to increase it.
Neither of us responded to the paperwork requesting our current income/expenses. Me because I didn't see it in time (and probably wouldn't have in any case), and her because everything is fine between us.
She knows how up and down my income can be, and she knows that I will bend over backward to help her when she needs it.
The past couple months have been very hard on her. She lost her job during the worst time to look for work, the holidays.
Still, she didn't return the income/expense statement with her lower earnings. I've managed to send her enough, almost, to keep her afloat. Others in her family have made up the difference.
The state used her last year of employment as the basis, and mine as well.
Still, that leaves me with less to save for home time with my kids. Or extra when she needs it. Or extra when I might want it for myself.
It will give her more each month, which is fine. But that might mean that she takes on new expenses as a result. (Probably will - human nature...)
And as a result of that, my ability to help her when she really needs it diminishes.Last edited: Mar 14, 2015

Thanks. I can push with this one and deliver early on Tuesday and get one from Swift also and deliver on Wednesday. Have not been very happy with Command lately. Every time I ask my agent what she has a few days in advance it is always I do not know until you deliver or the day before what I will have. Also lately all that they have had is nothing but short, and I mean short, at least my agent. I can not even stack a week with her

Thanks. I can push with this one and deliver early on Tuesday and Swift has some short ones that can deliver on Wednesday but then on Wednesday they will have some long ones heading west again. Not been very happy with Command and my agent. Seems that she can never tell me what she has in a area a few days in advance. Only the day before I get somewhere. Also she can only offer me short and not tell me what she might have on the other end so can keep rolling.

I've been on hold with On Road for 1:15 so far. Sitting at Sam's DC in Littelton, CO with a flat tire on the trailer I'm supposed to deliver tonight in Casper. Tried inflating it, but the inside of the tire is off the rim.
An hour and 15 minutes on hold? Really? Geeez -
... okay, officially 2:25 to talk to someone at On Road. Short staffed on the weekend. On hold again as he's trying to find someone to come repair the tire. Looks like my delivery in Casper won't be until tomorrow morning.

Rolla, MO at the Love's, headed for Louisville for a Sunday drop.
Picking up a Command load just inside Indiana Monday morning for a Wednesday morning delivery in Dallas.
Will almost certainly call Command again as I'm not willing to deal with the Lancaster planners. -
Here in Vado, NM. One of my favorite places to stop for some good Mexican food. Only tonight to walk in and find the deli closed. They are only open from 6-2 now due to the construction. At least the fuel here is cheap. $2.45/gal. Thanks to fuelbook been finding some cheap fuel. In CA $2.59 and this morning in Phoenix $2.47 and here $2.45. Might just wait until morning and stop in Fabens, TX where it is $2.49 but can get some great breakfast burritos if can not get some here in the morning. Then decide if going about 15 miles OOR and stay on I-10 all the way to Valdosta or follow GPS which has me going across I-20 an then lots of US highway. Think I-10. At least I can stay with the cheap fuel.
OceanDan Thanks this. -
Next cheap fuel on I10 is Gulfport at exit 134 at the Kangaroo . Fuelbook has to be the most important app for an owner .
Sorry make that exit 34A where fuel was $2.419 today . Fuel here in Marianna , FL is $2.959 at the Pilot and more across the interstate at the TA .Last edited: Mar 15, 2015

Pilot off 78 just out of Memphis. Tcalled one at the terminal then got under this one headed to IN. I guess when IN wants you, you can go back there. I-40 was a cluster coming in so I didn't make it far but at least I didn't get trapped at the terminal. DM got me this load and showed the full delivery window. Late was 3/16 2:15 am. When dispatched the late became 3/15 12:00. It's a dc drop. Haven't figured out why they change the window. I'll run it hard just cuz I like driving if I'm driving. Only stop is for my 30 unless I really need a "hydraulic" stop.
East Texas and west Arkansas are swamps. I don't mean to sound like a country song but I ain't seen the sun in three #### days. Was nice though to see trees budding out in west Arkansas today. Spring has to be close. Saw three Texas longhorns this morning that would make the old school Texas Cadillacs jealous.
Was REALLY hoping I could find some crawfish while in east Texas, maybe next time. I did settle for cajun catfish at the Catfish King across from the Lufkin Loves last night. Yum!!
Keep em upright and tween the lines friends
