This is better than the "strap every 10 feet" misunderstanding.

I personally never drink on the road. When I get home I'll crack a few cold ones but it's just not worth the risk to me. You never know who saw you buy that six pack and if you're drinking in the sleeper your asking for trouble. I'm no church lady and I see no big deal having a beer with dinner then hitting the sack but to me it's just not worth the risk.

With 10 hrs off duty, Im having a hot meal, hot shower, and a cold beer! I can't do the fetal position that long!
When I started driving, you would see trucks at the bars, drivers eating hamburgers and drinkin a cold beer for lunch. Nobody drank in excess rarely heard of truck vs car accidents, the 12' over passes werent all plugged up with 13'6" semi trailers...

if i am on a 34hr break, and there is a place i can walk too, sure i will dive in and toss a few back.....but as a general rule for me i don't drink on a nightly or with each dinner type deal. if i am on the road it is usually on 34hr break and on the day that i start my 34hrs. other than that nope.

Every company has a written drug and alcohol policy, we're required to by FMCSA. It was probably covered in your orientation if you don't remember call someone in the office and ask. That and the drug consortium (drug testing) is one of the most enforced things they do to carriers. It's a pretty big deal.

Dude, that wasn't directed at you, it was directed to the OP. He's already admitted on another thread he's got a DUI, where the hell do you think he's headed to next with his question, hence the "God I hope so" post by me, and believe me, I stand by it!
