I don't understand why some of drivers like Joseph make such a big deal out of it. If you r not a beer fan then settle down and don't tell other drivers what to do. It's funny how u guys keep repeating it's the law, it's a crime, etc. it's funny and silly. What's crime? Having 24 oz bottle of beer after long hard day?... What r u talking about? Don't be like a robot. Government makes a zombie out of u who don't use a brain. I know it's a law. Why should I follow this stupid law which was created by dumb politician who knows nothing about real life (truckers life in this case) in Washington DC? All laws were created for idiots. Why can u drink in RV but can't in CMV? It doesn't make sense at all. Just use your brain and common sense. And obviously I'm not going to drive drunk. If once in a while I want cold one with my diner in a sleeper I just go take a shower, buy beer, put it in my bag so no drivers (snitches) can c it and walk out thru the door on another side of truck stop (door for 4-wheeler), go around the building and walk to my truck. Nobody c that I'm carrying case with me(cause it's in my bag with my shower stuff). Having my diner, drink and like other drivers said when I'm done I just go put it in trash can. That's it no evidence. Then going to bed. That's what I do... U just gotta do it smart. It's very sad I c a lot of ppl in this country with no common sense.

I'll tell you why and it's gonna sound real bad on my part, but then again I could care less what people think of me. You know why? Because this is my world out here. That's why. These are my highways. I don't do this because I have to. I do it because I want to. And every time some idiot screws up it looks bad on me. I don't like looking bad. I don't like new regulations shoved down my throat because some entitled steering wheel holder decides he's not going to do it right. I'm tired of it. And quite frankly so is every other driver who does his or her job correctly. It's because of ######## like this that the rules are the way they are. Not to mention this guy has a previous recent DUI and can't seem to put the beer down. Lesson apparently not learned.
Im a truck driver and a ###### good one too. I've got no shame in tooting my own horn there. And I'm tired of every time some idiot who shouldn't be out here in the first place does something stupid coming back on me. It's a simple rule. No alcohol in your truck. With a previous DUI this guy should have been smart enough to leave the booze at home. Like I said. This is my world out here and I'm tired of seeing it trashed by "people" who don't respect it.truckon, NavigatorWife, ShortBusKid and 1 other person Thank this. -
Joseph don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to support OP. In his case I wouldn't even deal with booze on a road. Or atleast he shouldn't keep cans in his truck while rolling down the road. Joseph don't get mad at me, nothing personal.

Its your world Joeseph? What about the rest of us? And as far as me doing something stupid, it came back on me, not you.
-
It's not yours anymore. You threw it away. Alcohol was more important than a career. Better luck next time.
-
If I strap down a case of beer in between my tarps on my skateboard, am I good to go?
-
Well, there are some people in this world that should never drink alcoholic beverages (.) Be safe out there!
-
Everyone of us has choices, you do, I do and the OP does, I choose not to drink and drive, he chose to drink and drive, and now we have a lively discussion about the what iff's, me's thinking I like it my way better. Just sayin'
