I know of some little 12 liter engines that can spank the bigger ones with that kind of weight. and yes they are not stock.

My 460 Cummins were rated at 1650 torque and when Cummins took them up to 525 the torque was at 1850. The Signature 600 came out at 2050 torque.

It's something like that. The only info I could find was an old BCTA newsletter article suggesting there is a Memorandum of Understanding specifying 150 kg/hp. I can't find any BCMVA or CVSA references to any legislation specifying an amount and I could not find the MOU. I have never heard of a BC scalemaster issuing a citation for inadequate horsepower so maybe they don't know what the law is either. Until this thread I thought there must be a well-known regulation about it.

This is why I'm a little on the fence about whether she'll pull em or not. Edmonton to Langley, I'm unsure how much is twinned but I know them 4:30 gears are a good climbing spec and being over 500 ponies (even being a 11.7L) that just maybe I could get away with it.

Also, when you're crawling up those grades with 8 axles, does it really matter if you are doing 60vs50 km/hr? You're going to have a bunch of 5 or 6 axle hot to trot van haulers on your butt regardless. One thing though, you may find it a bit slow on the top end. I had a Volvo with 4.30 rears and 24.5 rubber with an 18 spd. 1600 rpm gave me about 101 km/h. I believe you'll be at about 97-98 with 22.5's.
