I agree with PattyJ to a point, but there will always be students that just don't have it, or just don't get it no matter how much time it takes. As with any learning institution they charge the price they do based on passing rates, say 85%. They would go broke and out of business paying instructors to push every student through to a pass.
-
"and I was a bit "lucky" to pass but I flamed out on the school "final" test."
I can empathize with you but coming down Donner or running I-80 with 80K lbs or trying to thread the needle backing into a dock on the east coast isn't the time to count on luck!
If it is a money issue go to some trucking company that has their own school and pays while you are in training. You will live much longer!!Hcindians5 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Oh I forgot to add that one of the students filed a complaint against the instructor. He cited the instructor not working with the students to help them be successful and his disrespectful attitude as well. My opinion of the instructor, at least on the range was that he was allowing us to just "get it". In fact he said that it would "click" and stay at it. However when we were on the road, his nerves were so bad that he would yell and curse. Again I thought this was all par for the course and was the way it was done. Boy was I wrong. At no point did the instructor say , " Look you will be in big jeopardy if you do not pass this test." Also the gentleman that filed the complaint was a person that was repeating the course. He unlike me was repeating because he had missed too much time due to family issues. He had experience that was different from what we experienced. Also and most importantly, I found out that that teacher resigned after the course completed last week. Again this is my story and it has been an important life lesson with a very expensive price tag I might add.

I can agree with that but experience and not schooling will be the only thing to lean on because mountains and loads of 80k are unavailable in school.
-
there is the other pesky thing called recent experience even if you get your license
without going to work right away it is useless 6 months from now
so consequently there are good drivers at home with no recent experience
and bad newbies with no common sense
but insurance company is happy -
Snipped from BSMA above "I found out that that teacher resigned after the course completed last week." So have you talked to school after you found this out?
-
Yes I have. The instructor himself told me he was resigning. He did not give a reason
-
Are you not feeling well? This is the second time you said you agree with me.I'm keeping track, lol.Even though this time you said to a point,i'll take it,lol.

One of the requirements to be an instructor is patience but many fail miserably in that dept.Theres another guy that failed a school. It wasn't from lack of trying because he worked hard while attending school. But these so called instructors pretty much let the students depend on each other for help.He did end up going to a company sponsored school and last time we talked he was doing real well and seemed happy.
