Every one gets short runs out of Lancaster. It's been that way for the past 3 years at least. I've seen people lose it because of 100 mile loads. I loved it. I could get 400 miles in a day and at the higher pay rates.

If you feel like you're getting screwed set home time in a zip code in the direction you want to go.

The way they used to do it is you got the short load and they backed it up with a long load, always. Not anymore, no back up and they just keep pushing the short loads, to much time and not enough miles.

And home time don't mean squat to them ... they'll stack locals on you before you can pick up the load that will get you out of Texas.

That's a shame. I have had similar problems Decatur. Very frustrating when they have local drivers, and you have bills to pay.

My hubby was told that Lancaster didn't have day drivers anymore...this was after they told him he had to take a short run to get a long one

Last time I MTed out near Lancaster I got a 600+ mile Home Depot load, this morning I got offered 6 different 500+ mile loads in 2 Mac30 out of the Lancaster area.

I haul mostly Command loads out of the Lancaster area so that I don't have to deal with the planners. Only time Command hasn't had anything I wanted was last time when I took the Home Depot load.

And tomorrow I hauling yet another Command load out after I MT out in Dallas.

Over the past 2 days I have been reminded why I prefer running out west.

I-40 in TN and AR is in terrible shape and I-30 between Little Rock and Dallas isn't much better. Combine that with the idoits who simply cannot merge for a lane closure or bring both lanes to a halt for a cop on the shoulder and it makes for a crappy day.

Going back to my "no east of I-35 rule" starting tomorrow.

here in Valdosta, GA. Did a Mac 30 when I could and was offered 1 load. PU at 1300 60 miles away and del in Memphis at 2330 500 miles. That was not going to work as far as I was concerned. Then my DM sends me a pplan and that was not going to work. DH to Wal-mart for a pallet load, about 80 mile away and take it 320 miles. Over to P&G with no back up. Refused. Then another pplan picking up with no weight on the info 100 miles away with a t-call in Laredo on Friday. Before I could say yes or no, it was taken off of me by way of Decatur. Now MAC 30 is all east coast, PA, the philly area. Nope. Do not trust the weather over there this time of year, oh and that same one from earlier, Memphis

Call Command in the morning! They have PLENTY of freight east of I-35.

For me today was going to be a good day. Pick-up in Mooresville, NC take it to rails. From there take a load to Winston-Salem then to Advance, pick up an mty and take to drop yard in Charlotte. Had it gone right I still could have gotten a load or an mty run back to yard but no. The pick-up took 8+ hours to load screwing my entire pre-plan and day. The reason? They scheduled my pick-up at shift change, there were no docks open, and (the kicker) they quit loading me around 11 because apparenley my last 3 pallets were stuck behind a line of other pallets. Day screwed, pre-plan screwed. And the usual hourly detention time message you get was for some reason not working. So I wrote the DM and have to make sure to monitor if I got paid for sitting all day. So what was going to be a $200+ day turned into about $109. At least I'm not bitter.

On a good note my planner (who is awesome) has me hauling mtys to the drop yard tomorrow which is easy so I can make up for the cruddy day. Drive safe fellow Swifties

Husband had a pick up last night I'm a drop yard in Iowa. Got there, no paperwork. It took 6 hrs. 5 phone calls, and 3 Qualcomm messages for afterhours to decide that he can just hook up to the trailer and they can fax the paperwork (this is after he told them he was going back to the truck stop) His DM told the planners to create a new arrangement with the csrs for his drop time since it was already 2 hrs late by the time he would be waking up, after she read through his messages and looked at the time stamps. He got to his drop around 1600, only to find that the place closed at 1400. Was told someone would come when he arrived, waited for 2 hours before they instructed him to spend the night at a truck stop and come back at 600. So much for finishing the week out on a high note...
