Just drove from Vermillion,SD to San Jose,CA (1685 miles) in 27.5 hours with a couple hour nap. Will probably do the same when it's time to go home in a week or so.

I did a Burlington NJ, to Billings MT, run. I did make one stop for fuel, but that was it.

It was not unusual for dispatchers to push us younger guys toward finds liked that with a wink at the logs, a promise of a swset run when you finished, or the veiled threat that this was all they had, so of you didn't tasks out you would be sitting for a few days until they got something.

I wish I still had that kind of stamina, but i'm glad those days are over.

My record was from Bayonne NJ to Mountain Home Idaho and return back to Clifton Park NY all the way empty. 4900 miles round trip in 5 days with fuel stops. Load of ethylene glycol or so it said, place looked kind of odd out in the sticks where I delivered. Afterwards when I finally woke back up I remember thinking that was really stupid

I can't tell you because some laws can never be unbroken !
Back in the day as it is said them Chicago to the west coast turns were fast and furious like 41/2 days fast for single drop and pick loads 6 days for the peddle drop and pick runs .

I used to find a team heading my way and chase them across .
I have left LA and dropped in Chicago along side more than one team that I chased back in my refer dragging days .

I am to old and grouchy to even come close to the glory days LOL.
Nowadays I am one of the dreaded solar powered truckers .
Most months I don't run the miles I used to run in a week LMAO !!

Pretty much the normal thing years ago to leave WI with swinging Saturday morning, deliver Vernon Monday morning. Make your produce PU's by Monday night/Tuesday morning and deliver Thursday morning back in WI. Two days off and do it again.

Joplin, MO to El Paso after I had a serious shouting match with my future ex wife. She pissed me off so much I drove it hard. I was determined to tell that ##### off but by the time I got to El Paso I was so tired that I just went home and crashed on the couch.
