    Hey Guys

I have four months experience with my class A (no schooling). During that time I had four reportable accidents, only minor stuff that didn't involve another vehicle or person. Basically scratches and dings that come with driving a class A for the first time. Well I left that job and now am having problems qualifying for a position elsewhere. Does anyone have any advise on what I can do or where I can go? I have clean MVR but think I am getting dinged in the DAC report?

    Thanks for your help,

    4 months experience with 4 accidents...wow!
Did they fire you or did you quit?

Either way it is going to be near impossible to get hired if these accidents were reported to DAC...

I would go to Hire Right.com and order your own copy of your DAC....see what is on there.

Probably should have just stayed where you were.

Someone posted not too long ago about 'scratches and dings not mattering'. They pretty much got burned at the stake on here lol

your current difficulty in finding a new position would indicate they do matter. It's just not that hard to NOT hit something if you're paying attention to what you're doing. The fact that another person or vehicle wasn't involved is irrelavent.

4 in 4 months is a pretty good indicator you should look for other career opportunities. Doubtful anyone will touch you.....or their insurance company to be more accurate. Try western express, Werner, Carolina cargo. If they turn you down you're done.

Last resort try try some local construction companies, dump companies or cement mixer outfits. They might look the other way on some dings and scratches and might be better suited to your driving style.....or lack of.

With respect 4 is way too many no matter how minor it is.You need to either get retrained or rethink this profession.Let me ask you something, did you leave that job or get fired?

4 is too many in a few months. 1-2 usually happen while new drivers (backing into something is pretty common)

I think part of the problem is you have NO schooling. This tells the insurance companies that you are not well educated enough in handling a truck. For the life of me, I cannot blame them either. Since you have had at the very least, one accident per month for the 4 months of driving, speaks volumes of your inability to do the job correctly.

Best to try the low-end skank companies, if you get turned down, then frankly you only have yourself to blame for taking a short cut to getting your CDL.

I care NOT the excuse of no money, no student loan, whatever. Many others find a way to pay, and frankly again, I cannot remember anyone saying that they had that many accidents as you.

I cannot find it me to wish you well, you took a short cut, basically laughing at all others that suffer worse than you that had to find a way to pay, and go broke. You got that bad karma thing going for you, for taking a short cut, and trying to beat the system. While all others did it the right way.

Should have attended CDL school. Insurance companies want to see that diploma.

Read Post #3 and try Carolina Cargo; also Martin Enterprises of the Carolinas.
Other than that try Craigslist for some of those Chicago outfits that pay on 1099; they bend the acceptable standards of common sense.

I would absolutely try and get properly trained before going for another job, It won't just get better by changing jobs, you need trained. I know these were just small incidents but thy add up to not only money but when safety departments look at the number of incidents in a short amount of time it tells them there is a big chance your going to have a major one. Good Luck
