One of the worst companies I've worked for. First, they don't qualify you until you show up and send a lot home during orientation. In my class, we started with 28 people and by the last day, only 12 or so were left. For me, I was lease to start with no force dispatch for me and no forced NYC for company. As soon as I turned down a NYC load, my dispatcher told me she would go out of her way to make me sit and she did. Longest time sitting was almost two weeks with no pay. When it comes to extra pay, ie breakdown, layover or even lumpar reimbursement, they rarely pay what they owe. After going four months without a paycheck, I was finally able to replace my dispatcher and change to company driver until I found a new company. My first full week paycheck as a company driver was $300. Their biggest problem is their meat plants. A load coming out 3-4 days late is common and, like I said, it's near impossible to get paid the detention. By the time I left, they owed me over $800 and, put a big $120 grand ding on my credit report for breaking my lease when they were the ones that broke it.
If you haven't been driving long, I would suggest one of the big starter companies before I would go to National; anything but them.

Thats all all meat plants, but I'm sure you left a few things out... I work for a reefer company that only goes to meat plants and i made $65k last year...so your story is full of holes... Why would anyone in their right mind work for 4 months for free???

I don't know their speed. Abilene Motor Express is 68 mph.
