I really don't care....
My family is doing well and our friends are doing fine, so I do not give a rats ### if others who have made poor financial choices go down the toilet. They do not affect my life, my familes, or our friends...
How hurting are O/O's?!!

It will affect your life down the road.. Unless you have a silver spoon.. -
:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038 MY family and friends are doing just fine as well.....
Do you guys know the REAL reason people are losing their houses?
I can give you a few MAIN ones.
1. Bought a house that they could barely afford
2. Refinanced against the houses value when the values were up
3. Was stupid enough to get into a ARM loan and can't afford the payments when the intrest skyrocketed
Hilltop are you really hurting that bad that you have to grow your own veggies, milk and butcher your own cows, make your own bread?
I think I remeber you saying somethign in a old post that you don't even drive anymore.
Whats your story?
Are you a O/O or not? -
Same here. Bigger garden, more canning and freezing. My wife and I both come from farms, so what we lack in cash we can make up for in other areas. The "stimulous" check that we recieve will be going directly into stocking the shelves. We are locked into a propane price for the next year(the last in our 3 year contract) so at least I know I can heat and cook throughout the winter. As far as those who feel that they need to convince us of how great they are doing, I'm afraid that the realization of the world we now live in is going to sneak up on them when it's too late for them to do anything about it. And of course, it will be everyone elses fault and not theirs.

You can't talk business to a businessman if you don't know business you will be made a fool every time.
You will never win the arqument with me either that times are as rough as the way out of proportioned picture you guys have painted in here. -
If I ever fail as a O/O I can never blame anybody but MYSELF. If you can't run a profitable business then you need to get out, if stay then you are a moron. -
You're absolutely right about this. But, it never hurts to have a back-up plan. That's what they call planning for the future. It's the same as you socking away money, just with food instead of cash.

Your situation may be different, but when the other poster goes along saying how he couldn't care less about others, that's just messed up. And that's exactly the attitude that got this country into the prediciment that we are in/might be headed toward. I'm not saying that any one person is responsible for taking care of those who don't know how to take care of themselves, I just think that a total lack of caring for others is not the foundation that this country was founded on. I know buisness enough to be able to talk it with the best of them. I've got common sense on my side as well.

I am wondering where you'll be in 6 months...LOL With the economy changing and fuel and other expences going through the roof..We will see if you are singing the same tune then.. -
By the way Iowa, I do commend you for taking the blame for your own actions, more people need to do that these days. I also do agree with you on the point of how the housing issues got to where they are, I think you nailed that on the head. People got greedy when things looked great on paper, unfortunately, life doesn't always go that way. I personally think that ARM loans are the biggest joke ever to come out of a bank, they're nothing but an absolute rip-off.
