I stay out weeks at a time, and I like to cook my meals every day.
When I get home I cook up some stuff and bring leftovers that will last me a few days. Then it is back to cooking things fresh.
A good cooler is a must have item, and the Coleman is the best that I have tried.
A real fridge is out of the question for a company driver. They draw too much power.

About 300 of us O/Os can get loads through Command Transportation, a broker headquartered in the midwest.

I go through the same guy at Command for all my Command loads. Like the load I got for tomorrow: Swift wasn't offering me anything I wanted to touch (to get home to Phoenix for hometime) so I called my guy at Command. He found a load that picks up 15 miles from where I MTed out this afternoon going to Gilbert, AZ. Not only am I gonna make about $65 more than the "Swift rate" he got the pickup time changed from 1300 tomorrow to 0800. Try doing THAT with a Swift load.

At the Montebello drop yard for the night. Being able to use this location has allowed me to take loads I might have otherwise turned down.

Picking up tomorrow morning in nearby Carson headed for a Wednesday delivery in Gilbert, AZ. Will be home in time for dinner tomorrow afternoon.

At love's i4 just outside Tampa. My new dedicated acct didn't have the load ready so been doing walmart runs out of winter haven. Better paying than I expected but going into Orlando around disney, universal and sea world can suck with all the tourist traffic and tolls are horrible till my Sunpass gets here. Other then that loving the beautiful weather. Beats being in the snow! Lol

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

By the way if anyone has a truck problem and you don't want to wait the mini terminal at winter haven and Arcadia have some fast shops. Had a trailer flat one day, done in 20 min and next day need 5th wheel greased and check an abs light and out in 30 minutes.

Taking a 10 in the customer's lot in Markham, WA. Very nice customer. 24/7 restroom, invited to park pretty much anywhere I want. Fortunate, because by the time I was loaded I had 15 minutes on my 14. This morning I started in Troutdale with a three stop load up to Tacoma and Fife.

Early tomorrow I run this load to Selah, WA for a live unload, then off to a drop and hook in Wallulah, WA to pick up a load that will t-call in Houston (a nice 2100 mile run).

Regarding the issue of whether to have an ice chest style cooler or a 12v cooler, I paid $90 for my Koolatron and it paid for itself within the first couple of months just because I no longer had to buy ice. My food spoilage went WAY down, because I no longer had the perpetual biological experiment in the water at the bottom of the cooler, not to mention getting stuck in the middle of Wyoming running out of hours with no services for the next 100 miles and running out of ice. The 12v cooler gives me piece of mind. Yes, it has some draw on the batteries that require idling the engine now and again; but I've noticed that the KW T680 batteries seem to be much better than the Cascadia's I've driven.

My 680 has a nice slot for a fridge, and I've seriously been considering buying one. I currently run tv/DVD, and of course the bunk heater. I can run all three of those for about 18 hours before my truck yells at me to charge it. Will the fridge draw that much more power?
