If your going to Swift I do wish you the best of luck. Please watch yourself with them....Driver turnover too high and they have a real bad rap on the road and with the DOT. I would find someone else to pull for.

Again I wish you the best of luck at Swift

High turn over has a lot to do with Swift being a training company. When I was a trainer most of my trainees where only there to get their 6 months to a year experience, they planned on going somewhere else (I had planned on doing that but decided to stay). Some decided they did not like being on the road so such a long time. I even had one who thought an OTR driver should work 9-5 and off weekends. As for the bad rap with DOT why did I seem to always get a green light on Pre-pass?

Yeah, me too with the green light. In fact Swift only has an ISS rating of "Optional" while some of the companies that people on here call great have an "Inspect" score. Go figure!

If you look at Swift ISS rating it is 72, only 3 points away from "Inspect"

Still much lower than some of the good companies. Why is it so hard for you Swift haters to see that they are not as bad as you make them out to be? Are they the best? No but they are not as bad as many of you think.

The only problem I had when I was at Swifty was that everytime, EVERYTIME, I went into Colorado I spent about 15-20 in the coop having all my paperwork gone over.

They must have liked you or something. My mentor and I got pulled into the Ft. Collins scale after picking up a Fat Tire load on a Saturday and no scales open in town to set axle weights. My mentor had me pull off to the side before going on to the scale. He went in and explained our situation to the scalemaster (certain gross would be okay as that customer didn't seem to ever overload but could not guarantee axle weights). When he came back out we rolled across the scale. Gross was good but tandems were over. Scalemaster said to adjust the tandems and keep going.

I rolled across Monument several times but the last time I had to go in because the "3" in my VIN was not clearly readable (from something that had happened before I got the truck).

Of course, I heard that Trinidad was the worst but, while I was driving, it was closed for construction/remodel.

I've heard about Swift hear, mostly the bad. I'm willing to except the fact there a training company, and thats part of how they make there money on new drivers. I've talked with a couple drivers at T/A, too.

What I am very concerned about, when it comes to Swift, is the rumbling I'm hearing about Swift taking on Mexican drivers. If this is true I see it as a threat to American truck drivers wages, and our countries sovereignty.
