Im Going To Buy A New Lap Top Whos The Tops Drivers

I have had a compaq and now have a toshiba. I liked the compaq but they had merged with HP and the options I wanted were no longer available...

 

I just ordered the a new Toshiba. I currently run a Dell and would advise avoiding Dell like the plague.

Got my new Toshiba (Top of the Line) for $1008. Shop around and make some phone calls.

 

I had a DELL for a real short time and got rid of it.
I too like the TOSHIBA. You can't go wrong here.

 

Oh yeah! One last thing........Leave those junk $500 laptops at the truckstop alone. They are worth about $100, and can be had that cheap online. Thats where the truckstop gets them.

 

i got a dell through the EPP, so i got a pretty good deal

i would not get one again though, they have terrible customer support

but i havnt had any problem with mine

 

I've not had any probslems with my Dell. In fact, it has never failed me. Except, it runs at half it's rated speed. I think this is was done to gain better battery life. I have an inverter in the truck so I couldn't care about battery life. I paid for a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 with 512MB of Ram and by golly it shouldn't perform like a 1Ghz P3 with 128MB of Ram.

On to Windoze..........Every computer manufacturer has it's own version of Windoze. Yes it looks like XP, and you can't really tell unless you start looking around but this is true. They change it just enough to suit their (the manufacturers) needs. Trash it and install a fresh copy of Windoze if you wish or better yet Linux.

Not to long ago Dell was one of the very best. I think maybe they started smokin' dope with Steve the "Dude! You're getting a Dell" guy.

They are just trying to compete in a very competetive feild. They are cutting corners to do so.

 

yea first thing i did was disable things they had running that i didnt need
and uninstall alot of stuff ran much quicker after that

thinking about reloading windows, probably see a performance boost there
too

 

I picked up a gateway from best buy for 599 on sale. they still sell them on tigerdirect.com it had only 256mb of ddr2 but that was quickly upgraded to a gig for less than $20. I recommend going to notebookforum.com and look around.

 

I just got me new laptop. WOW! What a differnece. Now I have to set all this stuff up. What a pain.
