No, and don't really care. Other than remembering his first name (Dave), when someone asks about my earlier years, of course his near heart attacks are vivid in my mind.

I had already been cross country, and rather liked it. It was his first time, and back then, believe it or not, one would be taught to keep a light steady pressure on the brakes going downgrade. Well of course this is how you smoke'em. That is not taught anymore, thank God, but Dave, gave me a few laughs. He came so close to the pumpkins tail.

I got other stories about other co-drivers from Victory, as we had to team, when we were new there. Then you went solo about 3-4 months later.

Yes, US Express bought them out, and stayed there for a bit. They had drive-in fuel islands, and the attendant would go under the rig in the pit and inspect everything. I had a run in, literally in Texas by running over a gazillion mice in the road!

Dead mouse bodies all under that entire rig.

Attendant came up screaming, some dead mice were falling on him.

I had left just before the new drivers building was complete, and supposedly behind the garage was a farm, that was suoppsed to be a drag strip track?

Anyway, US Express moved a few short miles away, so If you see the US Express building somewhere along I-70 that is where they moved to.

The newer cabovers that have long been stopped being built, have no dog house, a GREAT benefit, as you can stand up inside. However, I have been in places with long hoods that a cabover can get into easier for sure. But once you go hood, you never go back. The condo sleeper I had was GREAT, comfortable, stand up/walk in. Once you went from being cramped up to comfortable, it was easier to seek out other employment with hoods.

I would call places looking for drivers, fist question I'd ask, hood or cabover?

That phone would get slammed down if I didn't hear hood.

like mr. anthony i drove some pretty dang nice cabovers in the day and still like to look at em but wouldnt wana drive one again ...the liberilization of length laws out east in the early 90s was pretty much the death knell for the cabover .

I'm going to be really honest here, I like to look at some cab overs, but this has to be one of the most god awful looking trucks I've ever seen
