Nestle, Burger King, Walmart, McDonalds, virtually every food company committed to eliminate GMOs from their European brands. The same companies that removed GMOs over there, continue to sell GMOs here.

Dr. Robert H. Lustig wrote "Sugar in food is poorly labeled, and the industry likes it that way" for the LA Times. Excellent article that notes the sugar industry's all out fight to prevent truth in food labeling, even rolling out paid hack "nutritionists" to say that all sugar is the same.
It's telling that fructose is metabolized in the liver just like alcohol, explaining why children today are experiencing the same diseases associated with alcoholism... just without the buzz.
There are many excellent links provided in the article for additional information.Dr_Fandango44 Thanks this. -
Animals packed tightly together in disgusting conditions, covered with feces, and force fed antibiotics largely because it makes them grow larger on less feed...
... what could possibly go wrong here?White_Knuckle_Newbie, Dr_Fandango44 and EZX1100 Thank this. -
According to the medical experts who really care about the health of the masses, a disease called Fatty Liver Syndrome is the next epidemic on the horizon. Not only for adults, but for kids too.
We, the people can force change in labeling laws. We can beat the arrogance of the big corporations by refusing to buy their products and stick with organic produce. Just need to put pressure on our elected leaders to stop all of this corruption.Lepton1 Thanks this. -

Boy With Autism Improves on Antibiotics, Connecting Gut Bacteria to ASD
I came across this article, which I found very interesting. The more I read and research about diet and health, the more I'm impressed with the importance of gut bacteria, or microbiome, on a broad range of our well being.
I'm concerned that this particular article points to using antibiotics as a way to kill off gut bacteria that may be inducing symptoms of ASD. Use of antibiotics has been shown to kill off all or most gut bacteria, which allows room for harmful bacteria to flourish. I would think it would be far better to focus on creating a healthy microbiome with a wide array of species by concentrating on nourishing them correctly.
I worked with children with autism as a young man, and one thing that struck me after reading this article is that every single one of them were fixated on eating sweets. They would throw tantrums if they were asked to eat anything but a RIGIDLY narrow diet of sugary food. Parents of these children would capitulate and give them what they wanted in order to have some peace. I think in the long run it would be far better had the autistic children been presented ONLY with foods that would promote good gut health in the first place.Dr_Fandango44 and Irishtrucker Thank this. -
