Some things in this industry never changes and Werner is one of the things. The longer you drive for them the less miles you get. They wanna keep drivers at the lowest wage possible. My first yr with them was real good. But after that many of my paychecks were less then what trainees make.

    Bobtail Barry Thanks this.

Too many weeks making paychecks less than 600$ the struggle is real. Made bank training, but it's dangerous as hell didn't sleep for 3 days str8 with my first student the man would not listen to me did not brake how I wanted down mountains it's hard telling someone older than u how to do things..

I'm not. And to tell you the truth I would go back if the circumstances were right. Only as a trainer though solos don't make money at Werner.

Can't believe you took the position to train.Nothing against you but Werner doesn't care who trains as long as they meet their exp requirements which you said is 3 months.Thats crazy. When I was there you had to be with Werner 6 months to train, which is still not even close to be qualified. One should have at least 2 yrs under their belt..Werner isn't hurting for students, they do receive subsidy for each person they hire.Which explains why the new trks and trailers they get, upgrading their software ect ect.

I'm not proud of it that's why I only trained one student. He was however proficient at backing when I was done with him which is far more than I can say about my trainers with me he came from another company he was out with USA trucking for a month his trainer didn't even teach him how to properly double clutch he was clutching the truck like it was a car and wondered why it was grinding lol. the man got in my truck and didn't know which way to turn the wheel to make the trailer go left or right..

I know it,many take the training position to make a living and find out its nothing but a nitemare. Then what they pay teams is beyond insulting. Can't believe folks actually team at Werner. Most companies pay more just for solo.

EXACTLY! Their team driver pay is a pure exploitation of cheap labor they should be ashamed at how little they pay. I ran 7k miles a week team only made 1k I run 2.7k at Prime solo make 1k how is that fair?

It's not fair and as long as companies can get away with paying slave wages they're going to do just that.Every state has a wage law,the same thing should apply to trk drivers as well.
