Progressive it was 900 down 385 a month but when I got my policy it was 800 for the first payment & 500 & something on the monthly payments. So I call my agent & ask what's going on, she said she forgot to tell them I had other cars.

    RamTruckerOhio Thanks this.

Sounds a lot better than I was expecting. Hoping mine stays low like that. Thanks for sharing.

Is air brake an restriction? It's a endorsement needed to operate vehicle with air brakes,

Yes you can if the CGVWR of the truck and trailer is 26,001lbs or more. You will not get Air Brake endorsement unless you have air brakes on the power vehicle.

NO it is NOT an endorsement, it is a restriction that is removed from your license after you successfully pass the required knowledge and skills tests. Here is the regulation directly from the FMCSA, and I can guarantee this is accurate as I was a PA CDL examiner for several years.

[h=3]§ 383.95: Restrictions.[/h](a) Air brake. (1) If an applicant either fails the air brake component of the knowledge test, or performs the skills test in a vehicle not equipped with air brakes, the State must indicate on the CLP or CDL, if issued, that the person is restricted from operating a CMV equipped with any type of air brakes.
    (2) For the purposes of the skills test and the restriction, air brakes include any braking system operating fully or partially on the air brake principle.
    (b) Full air brake. (1) If an applicant performs the skills test in a vehicle equipped with air over hydraulic brakes, the State must indicate on the CDL, if issued, that the person is restricted from operating a CMV equipped with any braking system operating fully on the air brake principle.
    (2) For the purposes of the skills test and the restriction, air over hydraulic brakes includes any braking system operating partially on the air brake and partially on the hydraulic brake principle.

I received my insurance quote. I was pleasantly surprised it was around $5K per year. That really helps my per mile costs. I was originally planning for much higher, so the lower quote really helped.

Ram trucker here is the kicker, that could be lower. My quote was 7 something a month but when I got the bill it's 500.38 month. I'm happy with that.
