I'd just make sure you know the details of what your job will be. Shifts/Hours/Days etc. I applied to an ABF city driver postion here in Richmond, VA and holding tight. Between the good Union payscale, OT after 8hrs, pension if I do get in, that's it for me! I've talked to a ton of guys our of the Richmond terminal and their all very happy over there. The only thing that seems to suck about LTL's is the unpredictability of shifts/hours when your new. But the good pay and bene's make the short lived hell worth it to me. I'm also looking into NEMF as well.

Definitely will be asking all those questions, at least the 6 years I been here at my current job I have all the dock working experience I would need ..so hopefully I can work the dock while going to school.

NEMF has a driver training program too?

*update* the interview went well this morning, even gave me a tour of the dock area where all the trucks were getting loaded, ..and I must say they have a lot of freight to move.
Talked to a few of the drivers there too a lot of them been there 20+ years
The environment was great and I felt right at home.
Now the waiting game begins -
OTR reefers; they pull Prime trailers and haul Prime freight.
