I've come across a few myself...I don't know if it helps, but I've heard of putting 5th wheel grease (just a dab or two) on it helps...
Either way. Sledgehammer is what I have to use for it...though wd-40 isn't a lubricant, it's a solvent. It does work on most stuff though as a lubricant. -
Yeah I was about to ask this same question, the first trailer I picked up was jammed lol, I didn't have the tools I needed

6 wheel sucks!!!
-
I really miss them. Never had much issue with them a little love tap can't fix. I always gooped them up when I had them.. They make raising trl easier and #### I miss them.
-
yeah whoever decided to put those stupid things on these trailers needs to be tested for drugs.
I just use a sledge hammer and blast that stupid stuck pin. works like a charm!
just wait till you have the awesome experience of stuck tandems and go to a customer that requires them side to the rear for a live load/unload! Now that is fun.

No problems my starat tool gets those stubborn pins. If there is a non working just go under trl and remove the pin.
rickybobby Thanks this. -
I've had issues where the handle doesn't do anything or it does extend to lock into place. OR the pin on the passenger side would get stuck.
That BS pisses me off almost as much as a Prime truck in the left lane! -
If the lever won't stay open use a vice grip to hold it in place. If the pin won't release then just go under the trailer and pull out the spring. The pin won't lock but you're only required o have 2 pin locked to be legal. I wouldn't go with less than 3 though.freightwipper Thanks this.

I just keep a flat head screwdriver by my seat and use it to pry the silly ratcheting thing to the direction I need it.
