Nice, the retail on those seats when they came out was like 10k per truck. I am guessing that they have gone down some since, but probibly still over 5-6 grand per truck.
Just checked, 3700 per truck if a company is buying allot of them. Still allot of cash. But they have gone down allot in the past 3-4 years since they came out.

I know if I was buying a new seat for a company truck, it's going with me, on job switch, or truck switch.

Badluck is right on, pattyj, don't advertise a bad back, and don't expect a lot of approval from your company. If it's that bad, you can get a new seat for $300-$500 dollars American money, just buy one. They're easy to change out. Most have a lot of adjustments. I'm assuming, but you did use the lumbar support, lower seat raising/lowering, varying seat heights, all the combinations? I would just buy one, have it for my own use for a long time.

I don't know if this will work, but it might be worth a try: I had a coworker a few years back that was actually able to get his doctor to write him a prescription for a bed because of a back problems. And I'm not talking a hospital bed, I'm talking about a high-end mattress set... I believe, but can't remember for sure, that we may have had a driver also get a seat that way. I don't know if that would apply nowadays, but if you have a doctor and insurance, it might be worth a try to see if your doc will write one.

I have a 2014 Cascadia with the high end seat (there was a brochure in the truck, don't recall the names but it's highest quality one) and it has done WONDERS for my posture and I don't shift around restlessly like I did in the standard seat. It also has heat AND cooling, which I've been taking advantage of and feels pretty great on the lower back.
The passenger seat heat has turned out to be a smash hit with our 2 cats who travel with us at all times. Kinda miss having them in the bunk like old times, though and they refuse to move on their own if one of us wants to sit on it.Pmracing Thanks this. -
Sue Vinje Trucking also uses Bose seats.

Good seat to work for a junk company.
Bad tradeoff. -
I can see the company's point of view. They replace yours and there'd be a line of drivers waiting to get theirs because they have back problems too. It sounds like the company wants to help but they don't want to go broke doing it either. I'd buy the seat and have a reimbursement set-up where no one knows except you and the company.
Lonesome Thanks this. -
I'm about ready to replace my seat. Definitely due for one. When I was at Freightliner last, they had a cheap cloth one in the corner for $385.
