I don't get on this site too often because I am busy most of the time, but every once in awhile like now I'm bored and I go and check CRST comments that most drivers have no idea as to what they are talking about. I am amazed when i get on this site as to the kind of stupid crap that is said. I cannot understand where some of the crap I read about CRST comes from. No company is perfect and CRST has it's problems, but please people get your #### facts straight. I work for them. 2 years. I am also a trainer. Had a great experience with CRST. Go ahead....ask me what you have heard. I will 9 out of 10 refute it with true facts.

Then of course there is the substandard pay they offer me drivers. If you're lucky you'll barely make $26,000/year. Yes I know for some that's more then they have ever made but for what we do as drivers staying out all the time to get the freight there, dealing with codriver 24/7, and the crazy sleep schedules we shouldn't be accepting that as good pay. You could get paid by becoming a trainer, but someone with only 6-8 months of experience shouldn't be trying to teach another newb how to drive. Sad part is most of the trainers there do it for the extra money and that doesn't help anyone except the trainer.
I wish anyone who goes with CRST the best of luck and to run away as fast as you can from them. -
On the second paragraph I will give you a bit more agreement on, but with a caveat. There are many variables that are in play. Yes, you need a good dispatcher and co-driver. I made $44,000 last year making between .32/cpm at the beginning of the year and ending the year with .36cpm. That was last year. You are correct that the more you stay out on the road, the more you make. I will also agree with you that I do not think that somebody with only 6 months experience has the skills to be training a new student. I only became a trainer after 1 year and 20 months. That was my choice. I now make .48/cpm. I will make .49cpm next month.
In Summary, CRST is not perfect, but please do not spread things that you are not correct in stating. I have had a good experience with them. I have had my issues with them, but overall they have treated me great. I have been given good equipment and I work hard and take responsibitlity for my success. When i have a problem I make it known and my dispatcher takes care of it for me. (Please note....I run a good truck and I am NEVER LATE ON LOADS!) The good drivers get the good loads and the good dispatchers because those of us who are good deserve the best. If you are late and are a little slow then you fall behind......and you deserve what you get.

Stockholm syndrome. CRST is Bottom of the barrel. Reward yourself with a better employer and quite defending this shyster company. Keep telling yourself the reasons to stay, It's not convincing anyone.

"Shaggy", may I ask who you work for currently and your background? When did you work for CRST? Based on the fact in your summary you only worked for CRST for the 8 month contract period, you were probably a complaining contract student who did not take responsibility for his/her own actions. Who was your dispatcher? Did you deliver your loads ON-TIME EVERYTIME!!!? Are you one of the many newbies who blamed everything on everybody else, but never took responsibility for your own actions? Are you one of those drivers who complains to people at the terminal how you are not getting miles, loads, etc... I come across drivers like that all the time. The main theme I always find with them is that they never take any responsibility for their own actions or their own success. Think about that for a moment. I have been with this company for 2 years. I take responsibility for my own success. I don't let others determine my outcome. Do you let others determine your outcome? If you do then you will fail. My point is that I come across people like you and so many others who complain about the job they do and the company they work for or used to work for. Get off your hump, stop complaining and take charge of your life. Stop blaming others or companies for your problems. Most certainly stop spreading untrue facts about companies that are not true or at best misleading to new people who are new to the industry because of your own personal failures.
Let me repeat again..... I am 2 years with CRST and with exception of the normal issues that any company presents, I have had a good experience.

Pros
Good trucks (some trailers REALLY suck)...most of the people (F/Ms, Maint., Payroll, etc.) are decent people trying to do a good job, but the system is screwed up so drivers forget that. Transflow allows you to get paid Tues and Thurs...Best advice? Get your training, get your experience (all newbies should team drive before trying to go solo)...finish your contract, then RUN!!

OMG! Where to start?? Never, ever been on-time for Hometime...1 day for each week out for a maximum of 4 days...was out 3 months one time and only got 5 days home and the extra day was only because no load...F/Ms and other staff are SO overworked its amazing they remember your name...if your co-driver quits, YOUR pay gets dropped to the "solo rate" of .22 cpm! ...even as a trainer, if the student quits, fails, whatever MY pay got cut...I didnt even get my base rate! They finally gave Leads an extra .03cpms...ooooo! 6 years experience and I get dropped to .25cpm???...In all my time there, no accidents, no incidents, no speeding tickets, no deer strikes -- nothing....and what type of "positive reinforcement" did I get? ...Nothing...your paycheck is your reward...dont believe the "$40k first year with no experience"...lol...
Advice to Management
Spend less time TALKING about how much you value safe, experienced "driving partners" and just a little more time DOING something to retain them
