Couple 'o points:
1)Revenue does not make profits. Profit is a result of margin. A low revenue high margin operation can generate more profit than a high revenue low margin operation. The Paper Kitty Cat (just messing with you S.T.) is in the former camp. If you intend to be a long term truck renter then he has excellent sage advice.
2)There are many paths to the same destination. Both of you guys are correct in your opinions, it's just you are on different roads and dont seem to be able to see the others position.
Personally, I am paying off the truck so I look to book as many miles as I can. I don't mind throwing away a few pennies in the short term to make more dollars in the long term ($20k-$30k extra per year) plus, have more options available to me as the truck owner.
I respect S.T. and understand his position but his method is clearly not good for my operation.
