Well, I think I will be changing jobs again...
I always told my boss here that I would stay for a year, but then I would keep my eyes open, and that if I saw a job paying about the same money and only working 5 days a week I would consider taking it.
I applied to Saddle Creek Logistics several weeks ago and did an interview last week.
The negative is that for at least the first few months I would be working every weekend, but as they get openings and new people I would be able to move to 1 weekend day, and eventually to Monday- Friday.

On the positive side. Drivers are averaging close to what I am making now, and working 1 less day per week.
2 personal days at hire, and 5 more after 90 day probation time.
Home every day, delivering all over Florida. Day cab work, so no nights out.
After a year I will get 10 vacation days, plus the 7 personal days for next year.
Pay starts a little low on the mileage side, but raises are every year with no pay cap.
Lots of room for advancement. Company is large, but getting larger all the time, so they move management and mid level people from our area to other areas they are going into, so positions open fairly often, and they like to promote from within.

Hopefully it will be an upward move. Time will tell.

 

Had a great time @ Mats with the F2F crew...had to much to drink on Friday night and didn't really want to spend the Saturday day walking around Mats lol. Back to the real world now and looking for a nice Monday load for JJ.

I have been running ragged, everyone getting furniture, appliances and TVs with their tax money. Has been like Christmas all over again. 4 more days, and no more touching freight.

 

Lol Chrome only 4 more days. JJ won't even do a plant load because he has to tail gate the plants.

I got him a nice load yesterday and as soon as he gets home today he has another PO load to MS.

 

He should try tailgating 600 LB gun safes.

 

Bahahahahaha yeah right.

 

Come May, I'm going to have one of the oldest trucks in our fleet, and I've only got 216 k on this truck. Owner is really upgrading both trucks and trailers. Looks like we're going to end up with mostly prostars.

 

it's 10 a.m. i'm ready to reload. 2 TARPED partials that apparently won't be ready till tomorrow but i'm getting loaded today.

FIRST, I'LL SIT FOR 4 HOURS. WAITING for load.
TARP the first load before i can leave. drive 20 miles. UNTARP and pick up the second and RETARP.
second won't be ready till 4. i should be outta here by 7 tonight.

this is one of them days where i want to say F this job and deadhead home.

 

Well dang!!!! Just lost out on 3 grand of retirement income. Was eligible March 1, but now can't start till May 1. Didn't gethome in time to get paperwork and fill it out. Heck!!!! Didn't even k ow when it started. Anybody got 3 grand that they don't need?
