I am currently in training on my 5th week and from what I've heard from most of the drivers that are running out of the Jacksonville yard tend to run hard all week and try to get runs around the end of the week that are going to get them by the house for the weekend. Centurion WILL run you and they WILL expect you to run if you have the hours to do so. I personally will pick routes ( and yes, you do pick where you want to run) that will get me by the house (not to spend the day there, but to be able to put the wifey to sleep...if you know what I mean).
So to sum up your question...they will expect you to run your 70hrs out (if the loads are there) and you can pick loads to get you by the house through the week and when your 70 is almost out, try and get close to your home or you will be doing a 34hr reset on the road.

Rondata Thanks this. -
My "newly" assigned truck (2006 freightliner Colombia) number is: 0603 so if you see me out there, make sure you give me a holler. Oh and by the way, there is currently a class in training now that's been on the yard for about 2 weeks. The class only consist of 3 guys though but one of the guys had experience so he only was in orientation. I asked Anthony (the trainer) about when was the next class and he said the 20th I believe so I am assuming the class that's currently there was just a couple of guys that they just decided to train now (for whatever reason). Well, look forward to seeing you guys....Be safe -
