Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx on Monday resubmitted to Congress his and the White House’s highway funding plan, which this go-around is a six-year, $478 billion transportation reauthorization package that ups both the length and the price tag from last year’s more modest Grow America Act. The bill, however, retains the same name.
Chief among the bill’s highlights for the trucking industry is a measure of driver pay reform that would require drivers to be compensated for all on-duty hours not spent driving.

According to the DOT’s summary of the bill, the stipulation would require carriers to pay drivers at least the rate of federal minimum wage for things like detention time at shippers and receivers and “other similar non-driving work periods.”

Been a little busy with the move. Got the wife and all animals up safe and sound. No fights. Still a lot to do will be busy the next few home times but we should be settled in soon. Going back out tomorrow and I really hope to be home for next weekend. Should be getting new couch Thursday, I won't be able to enjoy it then but so looking forward to using it next home time.

Hope all is well with everyone

On I 15 x259 onramp still in Cali. Waiting for my 10 to be up. Had to pull over. Couldn't even make Vegas. Was delayed at shipper because my trailer was wet from the washout. Never dealt with that one before. Called dispatch because my TREQ signal dropped. He told me to turn the reefer up as high as it would go (80 degrees) and leave one door open. Loaded an hour later, after a two hour wait, and then back into LA PM rush hour. Two more hours in that soup and lost half a day. Glad to be getting outta here. California and good luck do not mix here for me anyway. Be glad to get outta here. My DM says no swap planned for now but OTD is out the window. Due 1130 tonite in Loveland Colorado. Not happening. A swap won't even help. And lose an hour moving to MDT. I saw on the BOL could be delivered tomorrow so maybe a swap is possible.

Day 7 - We took the King grocery shopping with us. Almost lost him to a horrible accident in the store. I needed something that was on the top shelf and shoved way to the back. Of course, I couldn't reach it and asked him to get it for me. He did....and then pulled the rest of the boxes to the front of the shelf.....while making the comment that he was being nice and helping all of the other little old ladies that couldn't reach things if they were on the back of the shelf. :smt067

The King is coming around and looking more like himself. He never had time to stop at truck stops and always took his 10 at the shipper or receiver....he was looking rough. I took him to the local barber and told him to "Get out". I told the barber call me when you are through with him. It took hours :yes2557:.
I did feel bad for him this week. His boat hasn't been out of the barn in 5 years. He went up to look at it and even the tires had dry rotted from just sitting for so long. :biggrin_2557: We live 15 miles from the lake.....I guess he can fish from the bank.
I still don't know where he will end up. He has started to talk the "big road" again. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers, please.

jaso, congrats on the move! I am glad that it went so well and that you now have your wife and fur-babies with you. Enjoy!

I usually like to take some time off between jobs to decompress. The first week or two is rough cause it takes time to get used to normal again

I wouldn't worry too much about the Loveland load George. They will just reschedule it as a drop for the next day and it's not all your fault and I doubt they will say much about it.

I delivered in Kansas City this morning and then picked up ice cream in Le Mars, IA where they gave me ice cream and the dog a treat. I will drop this at a cold storage tomorrow morning though it's not due til nightfall. My next run should get me home. I talked to the head honcho in leasing about getting a 2016 without the Bendix Wingman cause I hate it. In the meantime I am parked for the night til I can drive again at 0300. I'm hoping I can keep my foot down and get this load dropped and turn n burn for East Dubuque. It will be tight, but is possible. Assuming, that is, that my hometime load will come out of Farmland next to the yard. It would be nice if I was in EDub on Friday cause there's a safety meeting which means free food, yo. They take care of us over here. And don't take away our drivers lounges LOL.

Back in the truck and things aren't starting out well. Since our queen can't figure out how to send any snow to Omaha at this time, she's sending a thunderstorm, with reports of golf ball size hail. So yes queenie.... you ARE a little old woman and Rick was just taking pity on others just like you!!! :) :)

Occasionally, my boss will do a 3rd party load, and I get one of those tomorrow. I get to pull a , *shudders and cusses* werner trailer tomorrow. After that, boss will send me to new england somewhere. Hopefully NOT NYC!!!!

Enjoyed my vacation and got everything taken care of except the TWIC. Left the birth certificate in the truck.

Tonight is the 1st night this confuser has been turned on since I left. Found out that I didn't miss it much.

:biggrin_25513: It's not nice to be mean to the Queen .....just ask the King! Besides I felt bad that you missed the snow on I 80 in PA so I had to send a little something your way!
