March 08, an old boss ask if I would come back and drive for him and never had problems in the past.
First problem was I noted that permits (IRP) were expired and informed the company, was told that they would be taken care of and replaced.
Second problem, cashing checks at their bank no funds. Was told a booking keeping error.
Strike 3, DOT inspection, permits never up dated so much for trust. Cited and fine is 405.00 if carrier will not pay I have to.
There is no protection for the American Driver and the D.O.T, which seems intent on regulations of every thing we do; does not regulate drivers pay. And for that matter the Federal Wage and Hour are no use.
This was my fault and learn a lesson, people change.
Stuck with 1,400.00 in bounced payroll checks a 405.00 fine and the carrier gets by with murder.
