Ever get hassled by a cop when going down one of those "Local Deliveries Only" roads?

I have been driving all over Arkansas and a lot of towns seem to have those signs on the road, the same road that I need to get on to pass on through to the next town to make a delivery.

I just act casual and get on the road like I belong there, I purposely make sure not to pull over and look like I am lost or anything. Even drove right by a sheriff car and he did not care to pursue me.

Just wondering if law enforcement ever randomly pulls a truck over to check your bills or anything to make sure you are there on Local Business.

Never been bothered, and have had jobs where most deliveries were on streets posted "no trucks" or "local delivery only".

Often the signs are in place as people just don't like big trucks in their neighborhood.

However, sometimes those signs are posted for a reason, like a low bridge or other overhead obstruction, turn or corner that a big truck can not clear without doing some damage. It could also be underground utilities, like older sewer lines are not burry as deep as modern standards. You may be getting away with it, but it does not mean you are not ####### something up.

Working local I go down a lot of roads trucks shouldn't be on. One road I travel often has a bridge with a 24 ton weight limit for tractor trailers. I pass over it loaded all the time and both fhp and local cops have been behind me when I've done this and nothing happened. It may just depend on the area and if the officer is in the mood to pull you over or not

There's 2 things here….why is the road posted and the mood of the Cop at the time. Are there schools on this road ? Does the Mayor live there ? Is there a hospital or old folks home ? And does the Cop you see looking at you really care if you're there ? Is his cousin a truck driver or does he dislike truck drivers ? Or is he aware that there are businesses down this road that have truck deliveries ?

Some things can't be helped but that don't mean I won't get nervous wondering if a cop is lurking around and keep me a half hr or longer behind schedule so he can do his routine check. That's the only thing that ever bothered me about being on certain roads.

Local deliveries means just that....show them your BOL with the local address and you should be okay. If it says 'no trucks' then you might want to call the customer and find out where you're supposed to go.

A customer in Cheyenne is located in a residential area that is easily accessed if you follow their directions but a nightmare if you try to plan your own route.....you'll save yourself a lot of stress if you just ask.

Along the same lines....there's a customer in Denver where only one truck at a time can get in, you have to untarp on the street, and there are no parking signs everywhere. Those signs are to keep the cars from parking there so we can do our business. Again, always ask the customer if you don't know.

In my experience, if you see those signs there is usually another way thru the town that wont have them.. May not be the most direct route, but it is one that you wont take a chance of getting a ticket on.
